Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

“don't anticipate much more business until after the PL Series tour in the States.
Targets are also being looked at by others and agents will advise to wait”

Not my words, the words of Giulia Bould

Honestly if we manage to get through a 158th consecutive window without addressing the right back situation I will start to think i'm part of some sort of Truman Show style experiment to see how far I can be pushed before I spontaneously combust.
RB will be way down the pecking order.

Unless another team buys one and a good one becomes surplus I’m not expecting one.

He was fine, I'm not saying he didn't do a good job, just that I'm not sure he was absolutely outstanding. He had a few iffy games truth be told, which is fine and understandable, but it seems to be ignored a bit because we decided we liked him. As I said, a very similar thing happened with Godfrey, who was arguably more impressive playing full back in his first season.

I don't necessarily see why it should be a given that O'Brien would lose his game time either. Tarkowski is also fine, but he's not exactly Baresi. If there's no conceivable way that O'Brien could possibly be picked at centre half ahead of a 33 year Tarkowski coming off the back of a bad injury, he probably isn't actually that good. We're once again straying into the realms of people deciding actually pretty much all the players we have are great so there's no real need to worry about getting new ones.
O'Brien should be starting alongside Branthwaite this season - Tarkowski has a few mates last season and at 33 and with pretty much the first major injury of his career i dunno why we'd not be looking at making the switch over - factor in he's probably our second highest earner also and in the last year of contract.
