Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Everybody knows that though don't they? We're a PL team, we know that we have a team who are theoretically capable of being competitive in any given game, because we haven't all completely lost our memory. People are just hoping that we improve and do better than we have in recent years, and so are talking - in a transfer thread - about how transfers could help us to do that.
Yes i agree, a right back, right winger and a quality central midfielder transforms that team.

But even if we brought them in, most teams don't throw players in on the first day

They are the three priorities for me too, hopefully all starters.

So far no mistakes have been made from the club.

The loans from last season are in the bin
The players whos contracts we have renewed
The signings so far im happy with
The players weve let go

All good!!!!!!!!!!

Yes but one of the saplings in the fan plaza has brown leaves.

Agree, I am just hoping we can bring in another 2-3 this week before we set off for the USA next week!

Not every new signing will be thrown in, but it would be nice to have the option. I think it's beneficial to get people in early if you can, and games like tonight can feel like a bit of a waste of time when you end up playing a load of lads who won't get anywhere near the pitch once things get going. At the end of the day all our chat in here means nothing and we all know that, but I think it's understandable why people want to see things being done. We've had plenty of windows where we haven't done what we needed to do, people don't want it to happen again.

I think we will bring in a couple of right wingers.

The right full position is going to have to be a compromise in my opinion - if our first choice was Kenny Tete - we are moving down through a list from there - we may need to compromise - thats were someone like Coufal profile may come in - hes not appealing now but later in the window, when resources are spent he may be a viable compromise for a year as squad a option.

I actually think we need we need to prioritise the left full back position more then the right, at right we have Patterson, Coleman, Jake and Garner who can all play there if required - you can insure that with a Coufal type for a year. At left back we just have Myko, if hes injured we're goosed or McNeill is dropping back or Branthwaite coming across - both option far from ideal.

Left back is far more of a priority then right in my opinion - think wel kick the can down the road there and go for a squad filler.
This is our chance for "a fresh start", "a new wave", "Elite players for an elite stadium".

Mend and make do won't cut it anymore.

Unless you have five real options to use off the bench, chances are you will just get overrun if other teams change up in numbers over 90 mins like against Bournemouth at home last season.

Hopefully we'll keep everything we've got
and get as much quality in as possible.

Coleman hopefully will be third choice cover for right and left back if we do the rhetoric from the club justice in what remains of the window and strengthen with quality in the fullback positions.

There has been loads of work done, when you look at the timelines, the club has gotten through a huge amount of work within a condensed period.

- Alcaraz
- New Contracts offered - squad clarity.
- Branthwaite.
- Idrissa & Keane, Coleman.
- Barry.
- Mark.

If wed gotten Tete, it would have been great - but its indicative of the work we are doing. If we do the same again over a longer period and we are prob at the half way point in the window today - to the end of the window all is good and wel have secured 6 odd players.

No point being stressed or inpatient, there isn't a chance in the world we wont have a squad of 25 come the close of the window. Another 6 come in, in my opinion. 2 midfielders. 2 full backs and 2 right wingers.

Believe Moyes is on quality control in pursuing deals, his priority is central midfield.
Even your pal park is a good example of quality control, yeah there were 'ok' sticking plaster freebies available but he clearly believes in do it right, do it once.

We might not get in spectacular players for each position but I'd be amazed if David Moyes left us short in any department and just hoped to wing it.

I think someone should make a GOT transfer thread bingo card with the continuous themes and hilarious running jokes that seem to surface every/recent transfer windows- Jack Harrison jokes or a player who is loathed is repeatedly brought up even though he's not linked currently, a grown adult throwing a conniption, dele loan jokes , how many loans are there and so on it's all there.
FAQS, frequently asked questions (stupidly)?
