Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We’re four years removed from the summer we spent 1.7m on Demarai Gray and that was it, and people think 45m by July 15 is a slow summer.

There has been loads of work done, when you look at the timelines, the club has gotten through a huge amount of work within a condensed period.

- Alcaraz
- New Contracts offered - squad clarity.
- Branthwaite.
- Idrissa & Keane, Coleman.
- Barry.
- Mark.

If wed gotten Tete, it would have been great - but its indicative of the work we are doing. If we do the same again over a longer period and we are prob at the half way point in the window today - to the end of the window all is good and wel have secured 6 odd players.

No point being stressed or inpatient, there isn't a chance in the world we wont have a squad of 25 come the close of the window. Another 6 come in, in my opinion. 2 midfielders. 2 full backs and 2 right wingers.

Believe Moyes is on quality control in pursuing deals, his priority is central midfield.

Mentioned in this article, albeit fleetingly, about having an interest in Jacob Ramsey. Forest favourites due to European football.
I deffo get the attraction of champions league and especially the high profile nature of it . Also As a fan I’d love it but Do players really get excited by possible trips to Larnaca or hibs ? Not to mention forest had an incredible season but are players imagining that this will be a regular thing ?

I can see why players factor in going to say a London club but not sure I buy the lure of the europa league .

Joe “ ive got no ambition “ Thomas on the echo pod yesterday, said we may go in for Coufal in a few weeks if we have nobody and he’s still available. Let’s hope the club have a bit more ambition

Is this the one that lasts an hour or more?
I don't know how they stretch it out with no news. It's just mindless regurgitation of the same talking points, over and over.

Toffee TV usually do a 3-4 minute piece separate to their livestream, and at least the gossip of the day can be easily dissected from that.

You’d like to think if we have the right people in place that they can sell this version of Everton with the new stadium and opportunities ahead over teams like forest/brentford/Brighton/West Ham at least.

Looking at that squad depth graphic is deceiving.

Priority should be a total rebuild of the right hand side of the team.

Yes that’s the one, I couldnt listen to the whole show and any news that’s has come out from the ITK journalists like Joyce, they will say , yes Joe mentioned that last week 😂

Just linked with everyone know, media know nothing and are just guessing now.

Ramsey now linked....another left winger to add to the list we have!!!
Is he a left winger? Seems more of a central player, definitely not a conventional wide player. He’d actually be a good Doucoure replacement, who could cover a few positions, wide/10 and centre mid. Obviously he’s a lot better than doucoure

You would have to wonder how much of an attraction Europa/Conference League football really is. Appreciate it's all paper talk anyway but I think it would only be a marginal factor in an example like that.

Could see Notts Forest struggling this season for what it's worth.

I never get this favourites because they have European football.

The reality is they will spend 5 minutes in Europe and probably fighting relegation this season.
Player X signs 4 year contract because they have European football, also i reckon most players aren't arsed about European football apart from the CL were they can demand big wages.

Fully agree with all these points, lads. I mentioned in another thread that I'd understand the appeal of European football to a player if it's with a team that looks like they can consistently deliver it. The reality for Forest is they were last in Europe in 1996, so therefore are far from the aforementioned criteria, and this years qualification is unlikely to represent the future.

I think we will bring in a couple of right wingers.

The right full position is going to have to be a compromise in my opinion - if our first choice was Kenny Tete - we are moving down through a list from there - we may need to compromise - thats were someone like Coufal profile may come in - hes not appealing now but later in the window, when resources are spent he may be a viable compromise for a year as squad option.

I actually think we need to prioritise the left full back position more then the right, at right we have Patterson, Coleman, Jake and Garner who can all play there if required - you can insure that with a Coufal type for a year. At left back we just have Myko, if hes injured we're goosed or McNeill is dropping back or Branthwaite coming across - both option far from ideal.

Left back is far more of a priority then right in my opinion - think wel kick the can down the road on the right and go for a squad filler.
