Their turnover was only £145m so they are not giving 10% let alone 5% of that to a football club, no serious business would do that. Realistically the widely touted figure of £2m-£3m is probably closer to the mark.

What people don't realise is the amount the partners take.. 40-45mill it says. Wouldn't be a stretch for the partners to take less in order to grow the business. So the £10 isn't unrealistic considering that. It would be a business decision. Law firms aren't run like traditional companies.

Personally, I think we should keep them there as a permanent reminder, and put a few new ones at our new gaff.

I'd have loved it if we built a Prince Ruperts tower, also. Facing the Mersey, would look smart

When the stadium was in its late stages of being built they had a temporary structure on the west stand, made me think the same.

At first glance, it does sound improbable that a company with those turnover/profit figures would sponsor a football club to the tune of £10m per year. However, if they see it generating far more business or facilitating national/international expansion for them, then who knows? I think most of the "doubts" stems from most people expecting a household name or international brand. At the other end of that scale there are probably a lot of very successful, but lesser known companies, who might see this as a massive opportunity to raise their profile internationally. So what appears implausible might actually make financial sense. It should come out in the wash at some point.

Please bear in mind the club turned down a "major international air line".
