The current labour government isn't great but its certainly cirrently the least bad option. The last thing the country needs is Labour extremists splitting the left wing vote, like extreme right farage did with the tory vote.

How can these people not see this? They want to be leaders but are so stupifyingly myopic and thick.

And there, is the majority. Hot damn!

While I get the thinking behind your comment (though think the hyperbolic "extremist" part is silly and unhelpful), wasn't that the line before the election to ensure the least bad option got in over the historically bad option. Don't fight amongst yourselves as the scumbags need to be removed...

I'm sure most agreed.

However when the least bad option then continues the support of genocide and uses rhetoric around immigration that increases the stirring of hate already happening, then is it really thick to finally seek another option?

Not dismissing your point, but what is their realistic other choice given what seems to be concerted efforts to remove such politicians. What's the less myopic and thick option here for them, sit back and grin and bear things that must utterly disgust them?

To me, Corbyn isn't extreme left at all - he's just left in a society that has drifted very lright, if you know what I mean. I was using extreme in the context of what is currently "accepted" as left by the media.

And there lies the problem - sadly Corbyn will never get anything other than hostile coverage from the media and because of that he's unelectable - all he can do is split the vote that stops the parties of greed and selfishness getting in.

Honestly, I'd prefer Corbyn to be in power now, than tory-light Starmer ... but it'd never happen in a society conditioned what to think by billionaire owned media terrified that their wealth might be better redistributed.

Labour is lost to me, I don't think I could ever vote for them again. I'd like to see a party that makes strong convincing arguments for the distribution of wealth.

Westminster does not allow much for minor parties, but a high profile alternative left might win a couple of seats. They might do alright up against Reform. Sultana may have the competence that Corbyn sadly lacks, but the media will try and destroy them both.

I'd like to see more parties and a constitutional change which allows more for coalitions. What we've got is [Poor language removed] and doesn't work.

We can't fix the whole world, its nice to help but we are a very small pawn in the game unfortunately. A party that committed to redistributing our wealth away from the greedy large international corporations and into our own economy would be a great start but seems further away than ever.
We produce so little now there are very few jobs for the masses outside of minimum wage or close to jobs hence why so many turn to the life of benefits where you can have the same or very similar standard of living as someone working a low skilled job 40hrs a week. When they see more people flooding in to an already saturated market hate is easy to drum up and sell.

It's the least bad option?

Are you a little bit mental?

…..a new party on the left will not in the least threaten right wing parties. Unlike Reform, they’ll be totally unelectable and just a place for lefties to hang their hat.

Zarah Sultana setting up her own party means nothing to the rise of the right wing.

As said in another thread, where you didn't reply, you are part of the problem. A generally normal decent citizen who is gobbling up all the rhetoric around immigration that pushes it up to the top of the list of the countries problems when it is far from that. The problems lie elsewhere but historically "blame those you see below you" is a distraction tactic that works well for governments and unfortunately people continue to buy it, and even support it with gusto.

It's lies and exaggeration and happens in countries all over the world and all through the past and it's utterly depressing and tiring
