2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Best piece of business we could have done. I’m hoping that in signing a 5 year deal assurances have been made to him regarding recruitment and ambition.

Hopefully some signs of the rebuild will emerge in the coming weeks.
The other side of the coin is that we may be able to attract new signings by showing our ambition by making a statement such as Branthwaite's new deal.

Branthwaite's words about Moyes are very encouraging. Maybe Dave is realizing this is his last rodeo and he wants to go out in style. He definitely needed to change his mentality as a manager to reach the next level. His tactics are very good. His selections and ambition were always questionable.

In terms of player management, I consider Moyes one of the best "dads" in the business. He is very good at developing young players and encouraging the ones that need it the most. He just needs to embrace that part about him and avoid the bad habits of management. To hell with league experience and onto the next chapter.

It also gives us the power of whatever we want to charge a buying club if they come sniffing which will of course happen if he keeps doing what this beast of a player does. I just hope we match his new deal by actually being a Moyes team of old and getting up the table towards europe

Regardless of whether there's a release clause - I would expect there to be and I'm not naive enough to think he'll definitely be here for 5-10 years - he has clearly seen a reason to stay, and that is good enough for me and progress in itself.
