Can't blame Fulham for trying to keep a player they and their fans rate instead of letting someone else have him for free. Just got to move on and get positions filled with the right players asap which i think we will over the next few weeks.

I hope that our response to this apparent setback is not to just go down the list of free agent right backs with PL experience (KWP, Coufal etc.) as that does not do the position of most concern in our squad justice. We have Jake O'Brien who can play right back semi-competently and that's it, and to be honest I'd much rather see him get given an extended run alongside Branthwaite once the season starts.

This is the priority position in our squad and are transfer business should reflect that.

He's chose to play for a team that has 28,000 fans, he could have played in front of 53,000 fans that's his choice.

It might just be me getting older, but man that entire genre of "the first person to announce a genuinely completed transfer" is just so inherently pointless and done by some of the most pathetic and obnoxious self-proclaimed journalists alive. Like if you have some kind of actual evidence that some specific negotiation is happening, great, but the difference in timing between one of those bankers and either a big outlet or a club itself publishing is generally short enough (often less than half an hour) to the point where there's nothing particularly gained by hearing it first. That's without getting into how much garbage information you get from following those types. And quite honestly, if any adult actually mentioned "Romano posted..." in person like a few of my year 11s and sixth formers have, I would have massive doubts about continuing to converse with said adult.
