Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

May be wrong but I thought there was usually a window within the transfer window during which they could exercise the buy back clause to stop this sort of thing happening.

But then that just becomes it's own little deadline doesn't it? It's not ideal to be in a position where another club can just take one of your players at very short notice, with no negotiation needed.

If were resigning keane then the level of incoming players had better be good!!!
Yes, this is precisely it.

Sorry, but keeping Coleman AND Keane reeks of the bad old days and if Moyes wants to do that then he'd better hit the ground running next season with a tranche of upgrades elsewhere, because this absolutely hums of "status quo" - and Francis Rossi was never the most fragrant...

There were always going to have to be compromises mate.

Keane staying is great news.

No issue with keeping Keane for another year.... He would be 4th CB anyway and expect anyone who comes in would be. Easier to have someone around the club who would accept this.

As long as we are not selling Branthwaite then CB is the least of our priorities this summer!
Same here really. He can do a job every now and again as well. Problem comes when he has to start a run of games - he was awful at the start of last season and the season that Branthwaite emerged.

As you said though - 4th choice, experienced player - if wages not too bad…not the worst thing in the world. You do question him as a player though, you’d think he has options and would rather be starting games somewhere.
