Lee Carsley

I don't think he'd be into club management. Just a feeling.
He did a few sportsman’s around the city before the end of last season , I get the impression that Everton is a job that would genuinely interest him .

It felt like he was happy were he was but the ‘right job’ would tempt him and Everton seemed to constitute that job.

Came across really well and actually donated his fee to charity as well.

….very unlikely, I think Baines and/or Coleman are much more likely.

Coleman after some experience elsewhere. Leighton reminds me too strongly of Catterick's almost strangled utterancess with the media. And media is more important x 10 than it was back then.

I think if he was going to do that, he would have to come in as part of Moyes’ team after the U21s.

We did hear talk from Moyes about bringing in new staff in the summer but unless I’ve missed it, I have only heard that Charlie Adam has left.

It's always a risk to appoint someone with no club managerial experience but in Carley's case it's a risk I'd be happy to take especially if Moyes is moved upstairs and able to mentor if needed.

Managed brentford. And short spells with coventry and birmingham.
Agree though.
He seems happy with the international set up which is a lot different to day to day club football. Also looked like he never enjoyed the spotlight on him when he got the full England job.

I just don’t see a former England manager , even short term , taking a u21’s job .

I can see him here in the future but after Moyes not in a no4/5 position in his backroom.

Didn’t do himself any favours with the tactics in the first game . I love him and I would love him to get another go but that was mad .

In my mind this is what is going to happen.

Moyes goes upstairs and Baines takes over with Coleman as the assistant manager.

Evolution of the team and support from all levels, almost like being a well run club.

As soon as I cluck post, the club will announce Mourinho won't they?

I'm not sure. I think after what's happened at Everton and Roma with Moyes and Ranieri respectively, that experience will weigh heavily on Friedkin when it comes to the next manager choice, and let's hope that's a while off yet.

Carsley is certainly a promising coach, but there is a big difference between International U-21 football, and the Premier League.

I'm not sure he wants that level of pressure and scrutiny, either. He can easily make a very comfortable living and career in International Football at whatever level.
