2024/25 Jarrad Branthwaite

Huge IMO mate.

Job no 1 - Do as much as you can to keep your best players.

Gold star to TFG if this comes off.
Yup - this was the first serious test of this new ownership in footballing terms. If they have extended him or added a suitable release clause, then they have hit the mark straight off the bat. Obviously, we will be paying him what he's worth - but that's what big clubs do and it's what we used to do when we were a top club. The key is to hold on to him for another two seasons (minimum) or buy time to make holding on to him longer possible. So, by the sounds of things, they've got this spot on.

100%, you look around the league, Bournemouth losing their whole defence, Brentford losing key players, Palace potentially losing Guehi and / or Eze, yeah the cash is nice but properly replacing your top players can be impossible. Retaining players is what big clubs do so it's heartening to see us finally act like one again.

All of that mate, but id also draw peoples mind back to Rom. First thing Moshiri did was sell Rom brought £80 odd million into the club and let that fund a spending spree to make it look like he was investing.

It would be very very easy for the TFG to sell Branthwaite bring £80 mill into the club and let if fund the massive amount of work that needs to be done in the summer. Not going to lie i was almost 95% convinced that was going to happen - as its the glaringly obvious thing to do to recover the club easily. Im really surprised he is staying.

What that means for me, these lids are interested in progressing this club on the pitch, they don't want to be a feeder club to Villa, Newcastle or Spurs, they are managing their assets properly and are prepared to invest into the club and not dilute the quality even if their are easier ways of player trading.

The work to recover the reputation of this club begins.

Massive show of confidence by him. Fully bought in.
Let's hope so.

My fear is that the club cam to him and said: Sorry, we promised that we would listen to bids for you this summer, but we desperately need you to stay. Can we offer you a new contract with competitive salary and a release clause that will secure a transfer next summer?
