Nick Cox

I think we could expect a few names recommended immediately.

From the likes of England u18 Harry Amass (who i mentioned previously) to lower age groups.

We can or should provide a better pathway than united.

I'm not sure. He's been at United for 10 years.....pretty much the exact amount of time they have been utter garbage. All these latest youth players coming through all dont seem to be good enough for them either....so i expect coup is more like another Man Utd reject coming out way.....TBH i don't know anything about him but we will see...

Have you seen the stats about first team youth players? Probably not!

I'm sure he will be a solid member of the team. Although this is giving me Steve Walsh vibes, we are hiring someone who is very good at the academy level, bringing youth players through the system and then make him technical director overseeing the lot..

It’s completely different to Steve Walsh! There’s simply no comparison to make

I'm afraid you don't get GOT points for podcasts mate/I don't listen to them.

First social mention or post on here gets the nod of approval.

Wheres that from mate?

@chicoazul?
Glad it's not just me, never listened to a podcast in my life

Steve Walsh was a very good scout and then was made DoF to come here. Nick is the academy director, doing a wonderful job, but is now being handed the technical director role. I'm sure he will have input but will no longer be the person day to day in charge of that area.

Point being if Walsh had been hired as a scout he probably would have done a better job, it's up to Cox to show he can step up.

If we also sign Kyle Walker that will be two cocks into the club in one week!

(Sorry if joke already cracked I couldn’t be bothered to read 6 pages about a bloke I’d never heard of until two days ago)

I wonder what his role will be at Everton… The title is one thing, the reality of the role is another.

Perhaps it’ll a more natural and fitting progression than the Walshster?

I have never been a believer in the quick fix. My mindset is if it is a quick fix it usually means it can be quickly unpicked. This looks like we are putting the building blocks in place for future success. I want Everton to be competitive, we can’t buy success we need to build it. If you get the basics right you get everything right.

No like i say i haven't done much research into him. Just cant get excited about someone who's started at utd and continued throughout their whole decline. Apparently our stats were good when Dyche was in charge of us, so there is a saying about stats.

As always the devil is in the detail. You're right, until we know an outline of his responsibilities it's hard to say for sure. Hopefully he is doing what he is best at, but we also know people don't leave utd to come to us to do the same job. He has to feel he is taking on more responsibility in a wider role and that's natural.

We'll have to see how it goes when they are all in place.

If you go off the wider reaction from press, he’s highly regarded in football circles.
