Investing in youth is a bit harder these days. They are hoarded by big club and unless you pay absurd prices clubs like Chelsea want, they'll just loan them out.

A striker/mid tweener who likes to pinch in never seemed like it was a good fit at City but guys who weren't nearly as talented (Sousek, lingard) did really well playing in Moyes system that puts guys like Grealish in good positions. Given his lack of mileage + not really any national team duties he's not 29 going on 37 like Rooney or Owen was.

True, but we’ll need to loan some players in and it just won’t be happening until late on in the window.
