A little bit off topic but I've just discovered another instance of us getting the crappy end of the stick because of the actions of other clubs. I've genuinely got no recollection of the following and I was 19 at the time so feel like I should remember it. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I remember the fair play placement was very murky in those pre-Internet-stat days.

You only heard about it at the end of the season, out of the blue. I guess we just didn’t get the announcement, or we knew no English club was getting it long before the end of the season.

Even if they did I am sure there is another workaround somewhere. They just need to knock these rules on the head though not before dealing with the historical cases first.

Don’t care. Nobody else seems to, and the league don’t care about how blatant their corruption is. Why should we have morals when everyone else is just openly cheating and getting away with it?
