Has now scored 12 goals in 37 games in the Premiership, but a chunk of those were pens. He was also garbage against us in both games. Never understood the fuss with him and bullet dodged as far as I’m concerned.

He sustained a hamstring injury on the 18th May. I didn’t know how serious it was from what I first read but it can’t be too bad as he played the last game of the season

Only 2 of delaps 12 were pens.

The bigger issue about delap is that 8 of his goals came in the first half of the season. Bit a flash in the pan debut season that started well and petered out and very unknown whether he can repeat it.

Classic case of came up out of the Championship full of beans , slotting for fun.
Then the Prem defences sussed him out , our lads totally bullied him in both games.

Not saying he's a bad player but has a lot to learn and I mean a LOT.

It’s a little more than Delap has just cost who everyone is saying is a bargain. Same age, 22. Yes, Delap has scored his double figures in the Premiership and Barry hasn’t so a bit more of an unknown there, but Barry has consistently scored well in his last three years, Delap certainly hasn’t.

Barry's number are ok...bearing in mind that out of 11 goals he scored in spain. 3 came against a very weak leganes team, I am not sure that he is all that. Delap is for sure a bit more developed than him and a better striker.
