Hopes for next season.

I think shouts of Europe is a bit of a stretch although not out of reach when we need to bring in so many new faces. Most new signings don't work out. They may keep you treading water but those gem signings that push you on are hard to find. Even harder to get 2 at the same time that gel. See how many players Chelsea & Man Utd have consumed than spat out over the last few seasons. Thelwell had done OK but even his hit rate is low & we don't yet know how the new recruitment team will perform.
If we need 8 new players we will be lucky if 3-4 of them genuinely do a job for us similarly to Ndiaye, Big Jake etc. Of all the loans we are only keeping 1 of them.
I do however think we now have a first 11 (Charlie & Gana included) that should see us free from any relegation nonsense.
I honestly see a 12th to 9th place finish but with a healthy margin to the bottom, similarly to how comfortable 12th to 9th have sat this season gone.

I suppose my hope is that we exceed this as I expect the above.
If we can add 3 to the starting XI who do a good job and have room to improve (like Ndiaye and JOB) and increase in value, Armstrong contributes to the squad and makes 25 appearances, and another academy prospect comes in to the squad (Graham ?) whilst a couple of frees and a couple of loans make decent squad depth then there will be progress.

It will really help if RB and RW significantly improve (10 goals and 10 assists between them rather than the naff all of this year).

55+ points and a win at Wembley are then within grasp. Dust off the passports everyone!

Really need BMD to help the team, and most of the transfers in by time we set off to the states.

Can only really be assessed once we know what the likely squads will be across all 20 teams and the state of injuries.

If the Friedkins want Europe then the best way to do it would be to give the manager the sixth best squad. If they give him the 12th or 13th best though then we’re back to fans arguing over whether the manager has over performed enough or not.
Yep it's way to early to judge, plus my favourite seat is always the fence.

That I've a good seat at the new stadium, and one of you kind souls want's to give me a second ST in block 226 (I'll take 227 tho)...go on you know you want to :)

Fortress BMD and the rest should fall into place quite nicely.

Yep. Good home start needed. Interested how quickly the team adapted as think likes of Arsenal, West Ham and maybe Spurs all struggled to get many wins at their new homes straight away. Can remember going down to Arsenal in their first season and they'd only won one of their first five at the Emirates and needed a 90th minute goal from Van Persie that day just to get a 1-1. Moyes in his first spell had some near misses at Arsenal once they left Highbury.

Will feel more spacious on the pitch for away teams at BMD so atmosphere needs to be good and the team to respond to that.

1 point from first 5 games been the record last two seasons. Near relegation season it was 4 draws from the first 6 games so it is a very low bar recently.

I'm expecting something like 3-4 wins from the first ten at least so top 10 should be the aim with a comfortable start like that.

Id be happy enough with a top 10, but hoping we can be in the mix for a european spot. Am not delusional enough to think we will go for any domestic cup.

We will be 8th or 9th. However in each of the last three season a club has gone from struggling the previous season to either qualifying for or just missing out on the champions league the season after - Forest 24-25, Villa 23-24 Newcastle 22-23. So there is no reason we cant go a bit higher than eighth.

The one thing about this season i noticed is that no one is that much better than anyone else. It is the first time that i have watched Everton and there hasn't been a game where i thought we didnt have a chance of getting something out of each match due to the quality of the opposition

Admittingly under Dyche it was only ever going to be a potential draw due to the fact he didnt believe in trying to win a game, which made it all the more frustrating

The only team who ever concerned me this season was Bournemouth away where they looked dangerous, but again it was Dycheball and we just sat back for the whole match letting them attack us

The last four years have been astonishing when you think about it. We prioritised building and paying for a stadium and let every other club strengthen their teams each season whilst we just stood still, and we got through it with only the first two years of those four going to the wire.

We are very lucky to have come through that. Now we have the new stadium sorted, my stone has been laid on Everton Way and we can strengthen our squad like others can. Next season is the start of a very different Everton

Just feels grim coming in here seeing 9th as a hope for the new season.

I will come back here once we see what these Yanks are all about….
