So the guy will maybe play off and on 25/26 season and then be hawked out on loan to any takers for stupid loan amounts like they do with all their other surplus players. Typical Chelsea tactics of buying up talent to either loan out or sell for a profit down the line if they don’t click in the team after a season.

If I were him, Chelsea are actually the last of his choices I'd have gone with. Don't think he's a particularly good fit from a style perspective.

I did think he’d choose Chelsea. It’s the best option imo. Not a done deal yet of course. TBh I was a big fan first half of the season but since then he hasn’t pulled up any trees. Might have dodged a bullet there. I’m not arsed either way. I’d prefer he signs though.

One weird thing from Chelsea’s perspective is that they already have Nicolas Jackson who in 2 PL seasons has scored 14 and 10 goals respectively with 5 assists in each season. Don’t really see Delap being a massive upgrade on that output for them tbh.
