Good lord, I hope no other ‘big’ teams fans are coming on to read this twaddle about finishing in the top half next season.

It’s like reading a Fulham or Brentford forum.

Would be great to finish top 5 but we have to be realistic. Some decent sides in this league, top ten would be a very good step forward. Feels like we are moving in the right direction for the first time in ages.

There’s an understandable element of hangover from the last several years, but we are in a unique position where the grotesque contracts for under performing players is done, we’ve got higher merit payments then we’ve had for an age, then there’s the small matter of a new stadium destined to create a step change in our income.

We have the opportunity to replicate what Villa have been doing or what Newcastle did when PIF bought them.

We absolutely should be expecting Europe next season imho.

If chelsea win their final, do two extra euro spots (because newcastle finished where they did and won the league cup) fall into 7th and 8th league finish positions? Because, as spurs won what they did, they have CL football somehow. That'll be 9 sides coping with euro travel and games next season.
We could have a comparatively fresher side most weeks and with the right few additions push a few of the sides for the euro spots next season.
