Manchester City's Sham Trial

Probably dock them one point less than it would take to send them down now and get it over with. The lightest harshest punishment you’ve ever seen.
I'm personally going for something like a 'severe' £120m pounds fine (which they'll appeal and will either have hugely reduced or completely withdrawn), -20 points next season (which will mean they'll finish 2-3 instead of 1st) plus a two-year transfer ban (which won't matter as they'll strengthen massively before it's put into place).

All of that would mean absolutely nothing to them, and the other 19 clubs in the division should be refusing to play against them unless they are removed from the Premier League.

Let's be honest, they've been allowed to enjoy success based on cheating for over a decade, and have been welcomed to future-proof themselves from literally any possible punishment: They've...
  1. Soaked up all the local young talent in the North West.
  2. Expanded and continue to expand their stadium.
  3. Built a whole footballing community around the stadium.
  4. Got one of the best training facilities in Europe.
  5. Manufactured hugely inflated sponsorship deals.
  6. Had their owners purchase about a dozen other clubs around the globe where players can be traded amongst.
  7. Been given the all-clear to once again spend hundreds of millions before any punishment is awarded.
Disgusting.

This is the point isn't, the glacial pace of any consequences for their undoubted cheating means that regardless of the punishment it will have been worth cheating. Even if they get relegated on the back of it, one season and out and then they will carry on as per normal.

We've allowed our legal systems to be manipulated into such a slow moving mess that there is very little fear from very powerful very corrupt examples like city to ever change their ways.

The Premier League are completely out their depth. They just want the whole thing to go away.
Should have been swift and decisive action instead City continue to grow and amass their Lego trophies. Embarrassing.

I honestly think the Premier League went after Everton and other "small" clubs as some sort of...."Sort yourself out" message to city and the other so called big clubs.

When everyone was like, ok, we'll accept the punishment but now it's only fair if you go after the others i think the PL realised they'd screwed up. easy to threaten the weak but the mega lawyers of city are a different beast.

Enforce your points deduction of 10, 8 ,6 points but there is no way in hell they can enforce 100 points and a relegation for these big teams. They are desperate for it to blow over.

I think the PL will have to stick to the same format of punishment they have dished out to others (points deductions). They have established a president and will not be able to conjure new punishments on a case by case basis.

It will be points or nothing.

See he's crying again, apparently if they don't sell their players (at what will be a loss most likely) he will quit. Wonder who okayed that squad in the first place...
Pep won't give a flying continental fck about that, mate...
Especially considering that they look poised to potentially purchase another 180 mill worth of players in the next transfer window.

Pep's a superhero with superpowers!
By that, I mean, he's like Batman, because I'm reminded of a comic book, or one of the animated series...

Someone says to him: 'You're in the Justice League, Batman... You're a superhero! I know you have some sort of superpower?!'

Batman just stares at him blankly...
'You mean, you're telling me that you don't have sh.t?!'

Batman responds: 'I know how to cash a cheque, motherfcker.' 😳
