Moshiri

People will say nonsense like "he should be allowed to see the stadium he brought to life" when nobody is stopping him. He could easily put his hands in his grubby pockets and pay for a box if he doesn't want to mingle with us plebs.

Biggest mistake was his first. Keeping Kenwright around.

Trying to hate him, but he got us the stadium. Yes, nearly bankrupted us. But, we were only going backwards before him.

Heart was in right place, execution was all wrong.

Listened to a little bit there and still refers to us as "we".

If we were going backwards before him, what about the past 3 years?

Imagine being so incompetent that you lose much of your own fortune before trying to sell the asset to a bunch of unqualified buyers, and in 777's case, fraudsters.

And people feel bad for you.

It's amazing.

No one should celebrate his incompetence, least of all the people he was going to leave behind and let 777 continue their ponzi scheme.

But his legacy is literally going to he what we sit in for the next 100 years.

Whether you like it or not, you'll be celebrating his vision.

Isn't he part of the 'headlock' cabal? How come only Sharp cops the brunt for that fiasco?

As for Moshiri, it was a hell of a lot of factors that altered against him in his time here, sig, Ukraine, psr, headlock gate, a succession of clown managers.

Amazed he made it through to be honest.

He didn't own that vision alone, just like I doubt he owned the club.

Well there's no such thing as a Billionaire accountant.

So you're most likely correct. But he got us the iconic waterfront stadium, where the other fool failed to do so.

The push for 777, MSP, and whoever else wanted us was clearly an instruction. But the backing got the stadium. No one will remember the incompetence of the last few years in 25 years, everyone will remember the stadium. Which is why it's his legacy.

One thing that always amuses me is that Farhad and Kenwright made a hollywood film and it baffled critics because it didn't reek of low budget, it clearly had talented people involved, BUT it was an enigma because it ignored all the conventions and lessons of films and cinema that make them entertaining to watch. So they applied the same antilogic approach to hollywood as everton and made a film that didn't know what genre it was meant to be, didn't flow like a normal movie, and cost a ton of money only to ultimately fail despite everything invested into it. Bill and Mosh bringing a taste of everton to the averge film lover. Everton that.

If he’d got his way we would’ve been sold to 777 and paying ridiculous rent on the stadium. We would’ve been playing our home games at Tranmere in 5 years time if Richard Masters had given the approval the go ahead.
I'm getting the sense that you aren't exactly enamoured with our nutjob ex-'owner'.

BMD is a weirdly sane outcome for a batty period in our history.

Alls well that ends well ?

He got desperate when the Russian invasion happened - I'm assuming it wouldn't have gone quite so weird otherwise.
Theres still time for us to find out our new stadium was built using dodgy steal and the whole thing falls apart after a few years.

What film was this?

He did have the best of intentions and has to take credit for the stadium, it was miraculous getting it completed under the circumstances and he provided the initial financing and energy to get it started, and ensured it got finished.

I don't think he'll ever be invited to give a guest lecture on corporate governance though. He must have been forced into keeping Kenwright, but why collectively they didn't allow competent professionals to run the club, I'll never understand.

Stadium or not, we were the worst run club in the country, and comparatively for our size, probably one of the worst in the world.

I'd like to see him attend a game though, he deserves that. A crazy guy, but one of the most consequential people in our history now.
I expect this is why the interview is now. A plan to sow the seeds and remind everyone of how he got the stadium done (and hope everyone forgets nearly ruining the club for good) - in the hope he can be there to lap up the applause for the first prem game at the new stadium.

Someone post the clip of Moshiri celebrating with an ‘Huzzah’ about 30 seconds after the whistle.
Can’t find it anywhere.
