Just came across this. Probably best place to put it since it was his cup winning side
From Joseph to another, I guess...My Hero....
Remember in his younger days having problems with is discs and having some removedDidn't realise he uses a cane to walk but I guess time catches up with us all.
A true Everton hero and icon — legend.
To be fair they both regretted the decision as rash and admitted that it was largely caused by a misunderstanding and short tempers.I think Joe leaving was a big moment.
I think he also come to the realisation Johnson was a fraud and he was never going to be allowed build the team he wanted.
Wasn't McNulty something to do with it?Some had turned against him when he was sacked I can't really remember my feelings at the time .
One thing in hindsight I wish we had given him more time because he was a hell of a lot better than what was to follow.
I do remember what Davek has said about some sort of fued with the echo.
All that said Joe and Colin Harvey are greats in my eyes and gave me the best years of my football supporting life
Spent 2 days drinking with him an Howard while on my brother stag a while back.Been lucky enough to meet Joe a couple of times. The first I was totally starstruck and hardly able to speak. The 2nd time we had a chat for a few minutes.
One of my heroes and a very classy guy
