If you'd watched Ipswich today it might have given you a reality check. I'm not suggesting Beto should be out number one for the next 3 seasons but if we are going to improve we need some depth in the squad. As for TFG spending big? Where's your source?

12 goals in 1700 minutes this season. I dont think we should rely on him to be our #1 next season, but it would be MAD to get rid of a striker who gets you double digit goals in this league, who you know you can bring off of the bench to maybe get a result. Its been so rare for us to have anyone who can do that, to get rid of the one we have purchased who can, actually, score.

He has 8 in the league 2 in cups this season

The whole point is to improve as a team, Beto shouldn’t be our starting striker next season, back up fair enough, but I will repeat myself again. Getting decent money for him buys us a 50mil player/players. It’s the same reason I’d sell James garner, he’s a good player to sell for a good profit.

I'm referring to seasons when he had starts not the odd few minutes here and there. At Udinese in Seríe A in two seasons he got double figures in both,he scored double figures in Liga Portugal and you want to go all in on a kid who's had an average season at a relegated side. Nobody is in love with him,but he doesn't act up when he's no selected or substituted. So perfect squad player for our period of transition.

I feel like people aren't understanding just how effective he's been. He's top 10 in goals per 90 minutes in the league this season. That's really good considering how poor we are in the attacking third!

Split screen,I always take an interest in players we are linked with and as our first half was so poor it wasn't difficult. I'd want a player who'd cost us a big lump of our budget for this window to show something,and other than fluff a header Delap was pretty anonymous.

It’s how transfers work. He had a 4yr deal and 2yrs left so his book value to the club is 10/12mil so say we sell for 22mil
It’s 10mil profit in this years accounts , we then buy delap for 30 and give him a 5yr deal, that’s 6mil in this years accounts

You are obviously watching a different Delap he might score in a top six side, but unless we find a whole new midfield and a real speed merchant with exceptional crossing ability he'd struggle here next season. Can you honestly say you saw a real player last Saturday at Gooo?

I was using a delap as a reference for how transfers work. . And all the top teams want him mate. Maybe you should get a job in recruitment. Beto has played 60 glames, he’s looked dog awful and miles off a prem player in at least 30

Yet you are going mad for Delap who was awful in the championship but scored a few goals this season, and do you want DCL to sign a new deal? If yes then you can't be moaning at people who don't mind Beto staying
