Having to also sign Harrison to be his buddy/interpreter?Is there one negative to signing him. I cant think of one.

Yes big time but we would be able to use the saved income for the players coming in.Surely those numbers will reduce now that we are getting all those high earners off our wage bill?
…I’m totally ambivalent to this lad staying or leaving. Terrific cross for Beto’s goal and it’s good to have a footballer who looks after the ball but maybe we’ve all become too accustomed to standards of mediocrity.
14 goals in 115 games, just 4 in 38 for his parent club.
You’ve spent the season banging on about how good Ashley Young is and now you’re in here saying other people’s standards are too low because they rate Alcaraz![]()

….its sad we’ve had to put up with Young and it’s even sadder he’s been one of our better players over the course of the season. Thats the reality![]()

So good that our current manager doesn’t ever start him.
Alcaraz, good player and much better than Abdoulaye Doucoure. I’m sure his career will go on to reflect it.
….again, it’s a very low benchmark and another sign of posters being used to mediocrity![]()
Or he’s just quite good? I know he was a Thelwell signing though so your gag reflex automatically kicks in.
….not in the least bothered by Thelwell factor, I’d be chuffed if he signed the next superstar in Chermiti. I think Alcaraz is ok, I like the lad but I;m not desparate for us to sign him.
On Saturday, we started Ndiaye, Alacaraz, McNeil and Patterson yet had the lowest XG of any team against Ipswich this season. The players posters have been clamouring for, the pre-match optimism yet their goalie hardly had a save to make.
Yeah but mate, young won the young player of the year award back in 1928, so is fantastic. You’ve spent the season banging on about how good Ashley Young is and now you’re in here saying other people’s standards are too low because they rate Alcaraz![]()

Well he had 2 to make in the first half an hour and he didn’t make them because we scored.
Nobody has ever said that Alcaraz is going to walk in and transform the entire team on his own. But he is a good player that needs to be one of several more good players that we need to add to the team to make it a good team. You can’t put 2 good players in a team and surround them with the likes of Mykolenko, Beto, McNeil and James Garner and expect the entire team to go up multiple levels.

…McNeil? I thought he looked far superior to any other player we had on Saturday.
Anyway, perhaps that’s the standard we’ve all become accustomed to. I just want us to bring in better than we currently have.
