Played every minute in the championship this season. Not sure he has enough quality . But a robust , honest pro.

The absolute madness is that we could have gotten him for absolutely nothing with Derby going down with Rooney. They were out on their ass when they went to League 1. I was screaming it from the rafters that whole summer.

Fair enough, but he facilitated the large profit by picking him up on a free at the right time. He did it with others too, not always for a profit either, but in a way that allowed us to recoup as much money as possible at the right time.

Just seen people referring to Newcastle and Forest’s transformation from relegation battlers to European football within a single season. They were both very clever with their signings. They mixed age and experience with youth and potential. They both literally spent 10’s of millions signing an over 30 years old Chris Wood!

You need to mix age and experience with youth and potential. Too much of either will see you screwed! Our fans would have had a cack attack if we’d ever signed Chris Wood!

It's a strange thing for an oppo player to do though. Walk between oppo fans and go into someone's house to sign a wall. Could be something in it....

United or Chelsea players will come here reluctantly and only as part of a sweetener to get Branthwaite, I suspect.

It'd be nice if we reached into the lower divisions to bring through a striker of note. I have no idea who that might be.

I would be looking at the younger players like city they have alot of good youngsters in most areas of the pitch. Do get what you mean with branthwaite but think maybe the money could be better as his ex club gets a % aswell.

Apparently Ben Godfrey was with him so who knows if that played a part in it. I can definitely see Moyes wanting Delap as he likes his forwards to run the channels and work their nuts off which is Delaps game to a tee. Great user name you have by the way

Dont kno if i over hyped the lad in my head but didnt really see anything from him yesterday. Apart from some stupid fouls and trying to pick fights thought the lad hirst looked more dangerous than him, cant say i have watched much of ipswich this season so cant say if he is the right optiom to go for. If he was the first choice cf i would be worried still next season

Strikers are always the hardest to sign as unless you have a bottomless pit of money you're always taking a gamble on someone. Look at Man Utd and Hojlund. Liverpool and Nunez. Chelsea and Nkunku. They all cost more than we can afford and none have cut the mustard with teams who have better attacking players then we do

Theres videos of him going into a house near the ground to sign the wallpaper.

Rumours around what was said...rumours around why he did it.

If he wrote anything other than a signature then you'd expect a photo of it to be put online.

If he’s written that, it could just as easily refer to him turning out for any Premier League club against us.

As others have said Godfrey was apparently involved.

Given this betting, I wouldn’t read too much into it.

If people haven't checked out that Football Focus interview yesterday where Moyes cautions against spending any money at this club "because we dont do better when spending money" then they really should.

He's telling us well in advance not to be expecting any wholesale moves.

I'm stil convinced it'll be little better than sell to buy - and Moyes is the one to sell it (and sell it early) to fans as a virtue rather than a vice.

Moyes sells players to buy. That's his modus operandi at this club.

Expect more of it.

Having watched it, he then went on to say we had money and we would be using it

The likes of Cech, Essien and Hazard were very strongly linked before moving to Chelsea.

Hopefully were after that type of age and high potential.

We could do with a Keane / Vieira type box to box leader who is top quality. Someone like that who drives the team on with top level performances and leadership.
