I never heard of this guy, I guess it's welcome.

It's not "jobs for the boys" it seems more like "opportunities to join the ownership group for prominent Texans who have expertise and/or cash to contribute".

I suppose that's progress of a sort. This might work if these type of people spend 1 or 2 days a year looking at the clubs operations, and holding the executive team to account. We've never had that in the modern era on the business side at least - proper accountability and consequences for non-delivery. We need some devils advocates in there rather than happy clappers.

I hope Friedkins private jet is big enough, when all the folks decide to fly in from Houston. Wonder if there'll be much more of this, maybe a few yet to come.

i’m guessing here but TFG are basically trying to grow us as they’re brand?

which grows us as a club

i’m having none of you negative nancy’s

trying to spin any bad on this feller and the one yesterday

the futures bright the futures BLUE

maybe some stars and stripes thrown in but you get me

Matty mate, most of us "get you", we just rarely understand you.

I've had Mavericks season tickets since 1999 (canceled them after the Luka trade) so this is very strange news to wake up to. To be fair, Kidd was never the problem in Dallas, and I'm hoping this is a positive thing for the club. At least it puts our name on the map more? Still kind of wondering how this will ultimately affect us.
I’m of the belief Kidd knew they were going to do it. Maybe he’s in the dark on negotiations and timing but he knew what was being talked about.

I'll take over from Iggy as a Mavericks fan I guess.

Former player and current head coach of the Dallas Mavericks.

...

Yeah honestly got nothing more here, that's it. No idea what or why this is even happening - he's not even a good coach, a big name if anything, but nothing past that, and the Mavericks are trying to rival Kenwright in how poorly they're ran/running currently.
Kenwright never did anything remotely close to what the Mavericks did this season. In Everton terms it would be like if Rooney was here long enough to be one of the best players in the world and out of nowhere he was sold for Pennies on the dollar the season after Everton finished runners up. Then Kenwright et al came out saying how he doesn’t work hard enough and that they’ve actually done this to make the team better because “hard work wins titles” or something. As bad as Everton are managed they’ve (mostly) kept the fans on the side of the team. The Mavs have done something I’m not sure I’ve ever seen before. At least when people usually hate owners it takes years of neglect not an evening.

So yeah meaningless mostly but I don’t love that Everton are associating with such broken decision makers.

Our collective problem is that no-one of us knows the structural plan and long term commercial strategy of our owners. All we can do is guess, apply our own logic and then critique our interpretation of the strategy.

Some of us will be doom-mongers (then there’s DaveK, who is way worse), some will be overly enthusiastic. likelihood is that the truth is somewhere in between normal doom-mongery and over-optimism.

Regardless, anything is an improvement on what we have experienced in the last 30 years or so. It could hardly be worse!

Perhaps a bit of publicity in the States. It's not money, and the sporting advice could have been had without the ownership stake.
He talks about investing in that interview so I assume that both his and Sarofim's involvement is financial in some way as well as advisory.

Wonder if they were both involved with the mooted Textor/ Eagle Football buy out and have joined TFG instead?
