2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

You've got to be lucky with a few, availability, skill, fitness, fit to styles of play and surroundings are essential in squad building.
You don't spend money on 30 year olds with no resale value, also if you look at his record he really did shine in that first season and has never matched those heights since then. Not for me tbh.

I know the summer is going to be tricky and its going to take some serious planning and clever buys, its going to be interesting tbh.

13 million could've gotten a Morgan Rogers, Justin Kluivert, Youssef Chermiti or Neal Maupay. It's a mixed bag but there's definitely upgrades and downgrades at that price

No were not sure, and I'd like to think he gets a go before the season ends. But in the balance of probabilities I'm going with he's probably not a starter, much less a high impact one at David Moyes' Everton. We have gaping holes all over the squad and the number 10 is the one well stocked position.
Well stocked with who?

its good that we can still trigger the buyout if he doesnt hit the target games

i suspect moyes still has the touch of the dithers

remember him trying to low ball us for fellaini and baines when he had one of the biggest transfer budgets in europe

some things don’t change

I’m not sure he was the one deciding the finances of the bids tbh.

Firstly Iwobi is and was obviously good. Also there's a lot to suggest he would given hes already picking Doucoure ahead of him there and said he wants to give Ndiaye a go

Are people just completely ignoring the evidence staring them in the face of Moyes not rating Alcaraz on purpose or what
The Iwobi who played for Everton is not the Iwobi who is playing for Fulham now—- He was consistently very poor playing for Everton he is a lot better playing for Fulham—— so saying he was good playing for Everton is hard to believe to those of us who saw him in most games.
I agree that Alcaraz looks a good player and at £12M a very good player— hopefully we sign him.

He`s got much more freedom to play at Fulham and he plays higher up the pitch, which is much more natural to him, rather than having to sit deep and defend all game like he did when he was here.

I could never take to him at Everton for the simple reason he was a shirker who pulled out of too many tackles even when they were 70/30 in his favour.

Yeah it’s not like he played his entire time at Everton under Dyche. He had 6 managers, including the actual same one he has at Fulham and also one of the greatest managers in football history.

And he still didn’t pull up any trees. Lad made poor decisions with the ball and his finishing was dreadful.

We complain about having a team filled with players with no technique who only know how to run around. Yet, when we do have technical players we turn on them for not doing enough of the ugly stuff.

Reality is you need both types of player in your team. Most great creative players are not great defenders and vice versa. Not saying Iwobi was world class for us but he was underrated by our fanbase imo.
