Does the club need some new songs for the new stadium?

Would rather changes don’t happen just for the sake of changing things up because we’re at a new ground. Anything along those lines, for me, need to be done through fan sentiment/feeling, like keeping the siren to Z-Cars after its use for the derby or changing to Spirit of the Blues as the last song before Z-Cars, instead of GOT. Those changes will come when we find our feet in our new home, I’m sure.

There's not really much point forcing the creation of new songs for the new stadium, it's best to wait and develop our own new songs.

One of the many things this stadium move has highlighted, however, is that many of our songs contain some reference to Goodison.

My hope is that we can find some new heroes at the new ground, or a new identity (similar to The Dogs of War, School of Science etc.) around which we can create new songs. Whether they reference our new home will only be determined by time.

We certainly don't want to fall into the trap of becoming utterly soulless as a club. Ditching our older songs would present this risk (not that anyone is suggesting we ditch songs like Spirit of the Blues, or Goodison Gang).

Used to love it when they played the final fight theme from Rocky before Z-Cars. Been desperate for them to bring that back. Inspiring mid 80s theme

Yeah I hope fans don't drop Goodison Gang just because it mentions Goodison. Also any songs with Street End or Park End in, still get them sung

It's noticeable that Man City still sing "We are City, from Maine Road". New grounds don't seem to lend themselves to songs. I can't think of any club that sings about their new stadium. Other than Spurs who've stayed on White Hart Lane, it doesn't help that they've usually got sponsors names.

Whilst it may prove the case that we don't create new songs about the stadium due to the sponsorship, we may still reference it in songs.

At present, the official name of the stadium is Everton Stadium, but it is still referred to as Bramley-Moore in the Iliman Ndiaye chant. Who is to say that Bramley-Moore doesn't get referenced in chants in place of (Sponsor's name) Stadium? Even now, the name Bramley-Moore has probably stuck better than Everton Stadium for the new ground.

New songs come with time. You can't just force new songs and expect them to work. Its not like the club haven't tried it over the years. I'm sure I remember a song called "born a blue" getting presented as a new club anthem at the match and it went down like lead balloon.

I've been trying to change the lyrics to 'Do you hear the people sing?' from Les Mis.

Got as far as

"Do you hear the Toffees Sing? Singing the songs of Everton.
This is the music of a team who will be champions again.
From stands of Goodison Park, to the Docks of Bramley-Moore..."

The song is designed to be sung by an every increasing chorus so would be perfectly suited to becoming a terrace song.

I can't let this one go, but just can't really get anywhere with the lyrics.

Would sound immense sung by over 50,000 people.

We are the bramley moore gang works with that song, as would Hill Dickinson weirdly (we’re the hill dickinson gang), but I think a simple change to ‘We are the Everton Gang’ is probably the most sensible. Change Goodison Road to Regent Road and we are sorted.
