Yeah the way we set up (even under Dyche at times) meant we created so many counter attacks, we just never ever converted any of them.
The amount of times Harrison or Doucoure would get lost trying to figure out what to do….
You need to be quick and clinical to be a good counter attacking team. We were trying to do it with Jack Harrison and Calvert Lewin.
No wonder we were bottom of the open play goals list, by a considerable margin.
I get some of the criticisms and I do want Garner to push on and become a bigger cog in the wheel, but I would rather he be aggressively average and an athlete with decent height than aggressively average and a shrimp like Delph. We could be much...
This set up would suit us down to a tee.
For me a peak Everton team is Simeone’s style. Work hard, solid defensively but capable of hurting you on the counter and also of sustaining real pressure on the attack.
Never a team that keeps the ball...
If we had 2 Gana's in midfield then it would be 'all action' for a season.
The likes of Frendrup & Ndidi being linked may mean we go for the counter attacking tactic and quickly win the ball while transitioning directly bypassing them anyway...
Always an issue when someone says it’s done when it isn’t. Tete hasn’t ever been at the point of being called done. All this now does is heap pressure on a club that look inept at closing a deal, which is slightly unfair as it never got to that...
One and only time I might get some info 😂.
Thing is if it gets out where the info came from someone might lose their job realistically. I’m sure a few people had the same message Saturday night.
Been nothing since though.
