I didn't weigh it either ! My mincemeat, as it was over a year old, was quite sticky and clumpy. I loosened it with a bit of brandy which made it easier to put on the crumble mixture. You could use a little cold tea as another option.

Made them yesterday, as good as you said however I made one small error and put in too much mincemeat. Must weigh things out and not try to judge by eye. Will know next time.

I completely agree, especially when it’s a beer from another part of the country you rarely get to see here.

Only one quibble for me : I enjoy going into a pub and seeing something I've never tried before. Isn't part of the pleasure of drinking is when you find an ale you've never had before, and it hits your sweet spot. Who wants to drink the same...
