    2020/21 Theo Walcott

When I was at school, if you were really really fast, you stood a good chance of doing well. Theo has obviously progressed in football because of his pace. He absolutely lacks poise in front of goal. Give him time on the ball, instead of making the most of his electric pace, he more than often...

    2020/21 Mason Holgate

We have to be ruthless. There’s absolutely no room for sentiment here. Could you see Holgate in any of the top 4’s back line? Not a chance. He’s prone to careless mistakes and is far too casual. If we want a top class centre back, then Holgate is the one to be sacrificed.

Equally, pretty much ALL signings have an element of risk about them. Rodriguez was risky in some ways, but he’s turned out to be excellent when he plays. Digne was a risk too. He wasn’t in the Barcelona team, he could’ve turned out crap, but fortunately he’s been superb. I didn’t hear too many...

    2020/21 Michael Keane

I’ve been massively critical of Keane, but equally complimentary of his performances over the last 12 months or so. The problem is, it appears his confidence is the key to his performances. Being left out of the England team (surprisingly) has no doubt affected him. If EFC want to move to the...

Match Thread Southampton v Everton (Sunday 25 October 14:00)

Ancelotti doesn’t appear to make knee jerk changes. So for me, it’s Pickford, Godfrey, Mina Keane, Digne. Allan, Doucoure, Gomes, Rodriguez DCL and Iwobi. Sigurdsson as a sub gives us some strength in depth and some flexibility. He also looks better as a sub in my opinion. Pickford’s two...

    2020/21 Ben Godfrey

Looked very accomplished. Having heard Carlo’s description of him, I felt confident he was going to be decent.

    2020/21 Theo Walcott

Like many have said, a decent bloke. But the end product was truly dreadful. Occasionally there was a good cross or a smart finish, but all too often he was very disappointing. Unfortunately for me, what sums up his short time with us was that truly awful cross/shot when in acres of space at...

    Best atmosphere at Goodison?

I was in the upper Street End, and still ended up 2 or 3 rows in front in completely different seats!

    2020/21 Michael Keane

Confidence is the key. Last season, or at least the majority of it, Keane was bereft of it. The latter part of last season and definitely this, Keane is playing with bags of confidence. He’s far more relaxed in possession and you can almost tell he feels like he’s going to win every challenge...

    Best atmosphere at Goodison?

Everton v Chelsea in the FA cup. Rocking atmosphere after Lukaku’s brilliant first goal.

    2020/21 Theo Walcott

As others have said, Walcott still has tremendous pace, but ultimately, he’s totally lost his confidence. His final ball, more often than not is appalling. Walcott without confidence is no use to Everton whatsoever. Getting him off the books, even for a loan this season’s would be a huge bonus.
