Bunch of Londener soft poos ripping the piss putting down our Gordon lad. And you take it as bible. Come on to GOT and report it in the Gordon thread like it means something. You probably sat there agreeing laughing about it bringing shame to my city.

Our scouse wonder boy saved us from relegation and is trying to do it again while you chat wham about him to a bunch of cockneys. Hand in your scouse badge and gun.
Discussions go a lot better when we talk about players than when we talk about what it means to be a "true" Everton fan. The latter is something we can never, ever settle.

Deals are being structured in a way that let us bring players in without being  forced to sell, which is as it should be. If the player isn't World XI, they leave on the right offer. Very few of us in the "sell" crowd  wanted to sell Gordon. It was always a question of what we get, and what we can do with it.

Who was right and who was wrong will be settled over several years. If Chukwueze comes in and stinks the joint out, Gakpo kicks on and another realistic target like Pedro does well, the "sell" crowd probably was correct. If we get 80 million pounds for Gordon later and the new signings flourish, the "hold" crowd was correct.

As it stands, we're talking risk management and that's largely preference-driven. We won't know the "right" answer to the question for a while, if it's ever clear.

spot on

All Lamps has to tell him is "stay here, play every game, & break into Southgates squad. Join Chelsea, play about 15 games plus a few late cameo's, have a nice holiday to watch the world cup".

I love how in the absence of DCL and with Richy gone, Gords has taken it upon himself to be the main man. Some brilliant touches and play yesterday. He is growing to be some footballer.

Loved when he sent one of their no marks to the shops with the dummy down the wing.

If he can bag 10 goals and a few assists, it will really help us to stay in the top half of the table.

It restricts us to playing a player like McNeil in front of him to hand a lot of defensive cover. That makes it imperative that Patterson gets up in attack to add pace because McNeill cant defend and attack as he hasn't got that pace. If Gordon had played in front of Patteson last night then the situation is transformed....for the worse.

As said though, my position on a player changes with the facts. When there's a lot of evidence to suggest he's a player then we'll see.
Hahaha ffs you should be a politician dave the way you always manage to find an angle to spin.

We are playing McNeill in front of Patterson because we genuinely have no other option atm. We have 3 forwards that are (arguably) starting quality and McNeill goes on the right because he's too slow to get to the line on the left and cross.

If we felt Patterson needed his hand held to that extent we wouldn't currently be going after Chukwueze.

They probably seen him score 2 in 2 and decided it was too much hassle negotiating before that. Now it just be a nightmare.

I can fully understand them valuing Fofana higher than Gordon, given that Leicester paid £30m for him a year ago and he's since gone on to look every bit the top class centre half. Gordon would be buying potential and raw talent that would need developing. If we get our own targets in, I'll be thrilled with Tony Gordon staying.
