ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm not disputing his hypocrisy and arrogance as a manager.

But he has a very valid point. If your only reasoning for the intense fixtures schedule during a pandemic is tradition, then that's absolutely pathetic and selfish. There are loads of things that were legalized in the 19th century that are no longer valid for 2021, as society has moved on from many things. In Spain, bullfighting was the tradition yet many Spanish states in recent times have banned the sport. Especially during the context of long covid infections, we may start to see more serious injuries like we already have with Aguero and Eriksen.

Btw that's the most brexit post I've seen on this place. Klopp, being a foreigner, is able to see how backwards and outdated this whole "festive season" fixtures are and how it endangers the player welfare. Klopp isn't the first manager to complain about this whole thing; Pep, Conte, Mourinho, Tuchel have all done it.

He should rotate his squad like he does in EFL and FA Cup games. Simple. Or maybe he could alter his game plan so its no so intense and taxing.

And I stand by my point regards festive tradition. Plenty of other leagues have the breaks which he clamors for. Go and join a team in one of those leagues.

Just like if you or I weren't happy with our working hours, we'd either put up or find another job which accommodates our needs.

Our system serves us just fine

When games were classed according to popularity the Boxing Day and New Years day games were always A games.
The average supporter gets to see their team at play at a time they are off work.
We are not paying to go and see 11 blokes at work here.

Our working hours doesn't cause a risk to our safety or health like it does with footballers. If a footballer sustains a career ending injury on the back of these fixtures, then who's culpable for that player's injury? Now during the current climate, the situation is a lot worse with long covid and its long term effects.
