Perez was able to hold up Hamilton for 6 seconds on a shot set of softs. That, as it turns out, was crucial in keeping Verstappen inside Hamilton's window for the subsequent VSC period. Imagine if Bottas was actually a factor in this race and had done the same to Verstappen - it would have been put beyond all doubt.

His interview afterwards suggested to me he wasn’t truly up for impacting the race even if he could have.

Still stand by my assertion that Max drives like a danger to other drivers and has been handed the title by FIA and a Racing Director who made the rules up as it went along.

That doesn't surprise me and to be fair I'm not sure it truly warranted a penalty - a slap on the wrist. However, it was their easier route for dealing with today.

The major protest is meant to be dealt with in the next fifteen minutes.

It was silly from Verstappen to get so close, I said so to my lad at the time. He didn't gain an advantage from it so not surprised. As for the other issue, that was Masi's error and nothing to do with Verstappen, so guessing they will dismiss that as well. It was very unlucky for Hamilton today, but unlucky us what it was

If they do dismiss it, I think it'll go to the FIA's ICA and then potentinally CAS.

Again, you'd question whether this itself is an abuse of process if the FIA are declaring someone champion prior the appeal being released.
