I don’t mind the decision. Every moaned for years that the sport is boring, first bit of action and controversy everyone is crying. Like kopites crying for punishment for pickford this

Now I knew they weren't going to penalise Max as like @longers said had he known at the time he was going to get a 5 second penalty then he could have adjusted his pace accordingly to make sure he didn't lose 2nd place. However there is a big fundamental issue with this, what the precedent is now is that you can defend the inside, block the outside car from turning in and boot it out of that corner leaving track limits and have no penalty whatsoever. They should have said with the new evidence that the original decision was wrong and it should have been a penalty although it would be unjust to apply it AFTER the race has taken place.

In F1 sometimes you only get that one chance in a race to pass an opponent and it is flat out wrong that someone should keep that place by ignoring the very essence of a racing circuit. You either penalise making an error or you have grass or gravel line the outside of the track to ensure that there is a cost to trying that very move.

That's precisely the issue.

It's not the lack of penalty, it's the precedent.

Verstappen will be pleased that he's on the front row, but not having Perez up there really handicaps his options, and even if he beats Hamilton off the line the Mercs should still fancy their chances if they are smart about forcing the strategy

Bottas could well get a nice tow down to T1 and ease ahead of Verstappen.

Mental how that kerb destroyed Gaslys wing.
