Hard to see how Warrington comes back from that to be honest. Sure the Mexican kid turned out to be a little banger but he's not likely to get a shot at any of other the top names in the division so the loss won't look less bad. A rematch? An unwise decision after being banged out like that,

Probably should do a rematch with Frampton then Ireland, one last big payday for them both then call it a wrap.

Would you really pay to watch that rematch now ?
Genuine question..

No because it would be on PPV and Sky are upping the price apparently. A rematch would sell though, they'd use the whole "Josh is a different animal with his fans in the arena" but for me it would be both reckless and not worth the risk. The Mexican isn't heavily backed so despite this win he could be easily forgotten about by the rest of division. Plus that sort of loss leaves lasting damage, if he does want to come back he has to built back up very slowly.

Warrington is an intensity fighter. If the hunger and fitness are gone, retire. Simple as that.

If it's just ring rust, different story, but difficult to see where he goes from here. No world title fights for him now for a while, the rematch against that kid would be a huge gamble and stepping back to European level would be too obvious, even if the right thing to do to get him up to speed.

What was strange about that was Warrington seemed the quicker fight but those shots from
Lara was hurting him from the opening bell. Lara didn’t respect Warringtons power and knew from the opening trade he was hurting him. Warrington only has one way of fighting and was always gonna get in trouble with someone who can bang.

I’m not Warringtons biggest fan but as a boxing fan, that loss is rubbish cos we are gonna miss out on some exciting fights. The Xu fight, Navarette, Russel jr, Conlan (potentially in 18 months) and Shakir Stevenson fights would of been great watches due to the styles. Hopefully he bounces back and can still have those fights cos they’ll all be great fights.

I actually turned off after the Zelfa Barret Kiko fight at disgust at the judges, just absolutely disgraceful cards which happen on pretty much every show with nothing ever done about it

Good summary that but due to Warringtons style, he was always gonna struggle with a fighter who can trade back with him and carries power. Warrington isn’t the biggest puncher but loves to trade. Imagine him trading with a fighter like Can Xu, Navarette, Russell Jr and Shakur Stevenson? Be very dangerous game plan due to him showing no plan b in his last dozen fights.
