Remember the big end of season statement in his first season; the victory fly past on the OS?

Nowhere to be seen or heard from now.

That underlines his (lack of)character.

He'll just be told to go on gardening leave now while all the transfer business is done this summer. Paid up to next June and then he's gone.

A disastrous experiment that cost the club £200M in fees.

You say that like £200m has been completely wasted. 1/3rd of that money went on the 2 best players in our squad right now, and we’d probably make £150m of it back if we were to sell them...

Dave, whenever he's in the media you kick off about him being in the media?

Which is completely wiped out by the losses we've suffered over his failure to sell on the players we dont want for a decent fee.

His time here has been wasteful. No one can describe it as a success or even reasonable. It's been a poor appointment, and the sooner the role of DoF is scrapped the better. Half a billion in fees since it was set up. The transfer practice is chronic under this 'system'.

He’s utterly integral to the plan moving forward. That’s why Moshiri put him on the board. He’s architecting the entire thing. He’s hand in glove with Ancelotti. They’re the two most important people at Everton right now. Brands came in with his hands tied behind his back thanks to the stupidity of the club with Koeman and Walsh and the FFP constraints. He’s doing a brilliant job boxing our way out of that, reducing the age of the squad, increasing its value on the pitch, selling slow older players and bringing in quicker younger ones. This campaign has been stop start thanks to injuries. We’ll have a better squad next season I’m absolutely certain.

If you want it in black and white at the end of the 17/18 season he inherited a club that had Sam Allardyce as manager and our best players were considered to be Walcott Siggurdson Coleman Gueye . At the start of next season Carlo Ancelotti will be our manager and the squad will be built around Richarlison, Digne, Holgate, Kean, Calvert Lewin, Gordon, Branthwaite a mixture of Brands signings and young players he’s created a pathway for. You can make any short term judgements on individual players or individual windows that you want or play the game of blaming him for anything bad and crediting others for anything good, but what is undeniable is that since he’s arrived the player and managerial team has improved in quality. That’s his job, and no ones once Moyes left has done that except Martinez season 1. Brands is showing year on year improvement for the club. Haters gonna hate.

Just for a little bit of perspective, aimed at shutting up those incessant whingebags saying he's on his holidays or he hasn't done any business yet. So far, across all 20 PL clubs for next season, there have been 16 incoming transfers, deducted those agreed in January (Ziyech) and those that were already on loan (Soucek, Lo Celso etc.) that leaves a grand total of 11 incoming transfers... some highlights from said 11 players?

- Nkounkou to us
- Wes Foderingham to Sheff Utd
- Matija Sarkic to Wolves

Clubs so far, excluding turning loans permanent which will have been worked on before the season ended, have spent ~£59m so far and ~£48m of that was on Werner and ~£10m spent on two random kids Man City will probably never play.

So no, Brands isn't on holiday, he's not being slow, he's not useless, the whole LEAGUE hasn't really started recruiting yet.

As a footnote to this. His job is also not to log onto GOT and keep us all updated with every incremental development. We are literally the last to know what's going on - just because we're hearing nothing, doesn't mean the club are doing nothing.

The players the squad needs to be built around haven´t even been bought yet. Of the ones you´ve listed there, I think only Digne, Richarlison and Holgate would be starting regularly for a Champions League team.

How can we move players on if no club comes in and makes an offer? You have a agic way of shifting the unwanted (deadwood) players? Better tell Marcel and Carlo.

Which is two players more than the number we had in 17/18 which was realistically one (Gueye).

He's 'hand in glove with Ancelotti'...a man he had no part in bringing to the club. We'll see this summer just how much notice Ancelotti takes of Brands and his expensive (usually injured) late signings.

The brilliant job: does this include selling for a pittance or giving away free the players he inherited? The brilliance of buying players without have them conduct a medical? The brilliance of paying just on £70M for three duds like Kean, Iwobi and Delph (and the kings ransom in wages they command)?

You see a change from one to the other as a massive leap forward? I dont. Not one bit of it. You are peddling a fantasy there. Richarlison and Digne aside (one of whom Brands didn't bring in) we are a shambles of a first team squad. He's been here two seasons and made no improvement to our quality overall. We remain a team that largely relies on Richarlison.

And look at the table. It never lies they say:

We finished 8th under Allardyce before he arrived; maintained that the following season; and we end up this season in 12th. We're failing as a football organisation. Brands is the head of that organisation and he is responsible for the lack of quality and the finishing position.

I realy have no idea what this feller has to do to be considered a failure.

Let's see if he gets that contract extension. The overwhelming odds must be that he wont get one right now.

We've been through this before. Disd Cleberly strike you as a player we could shift out for decent cash? Ot Jelavic or Anichebe?

Brands just doesn't have the credentials to do that side of the job. He prefers the other side of the job: to throw cash around on players.
