BBC Radio Merseyside - Greatest PL Team Poll

His performance in the cup final two years after that was world class, so he definitely was on his day anyway.

Only Martyn could contest that spot for this vote, we've had some awful keepers in the premiership era.
No denying that mate. The flying banana at Wembley - what a game he had.

If only that bell end Peter Johnston hadn't have messed up signing Martyn some years earlier...

Lescott was better than Distin ever was. People just don’t like him because of the way he left. Jags and Distin were actually a poor partnership, they were both reactive centrebacks so balls down the middle or crosses in the box they often struggled with as they seemed to wait for each other rather than be decisive. When Heitinga partnered either of them we looked more solid, equally when Distin and Stones played under Martinez we looked better (at first). Jags and Lescott in their peak though were a different level.

Them in a front 3 with lukaku
Richarlison > Piennar.

One day we’ll all look back at this and feel a bit embarrassed that anyone even considered otherwise.

Imagine the goals for tally from a team containing 2 decent forwards along with Richarlison and Kanchelskis on each wing.

Taking this very loosely of course, if they kicked a premier league ball theyr'e in.
On their best form, before any injuries, aka, fantasy Island stuff.

Southall
Coleman Jagielka Lescott Baines
Carsley (Capt.)
Arteta Pienaar...these 4 in a flexible diamond...or as a flat 4; Fellaini Arteta Carsley Pienaar*
Fellaini
Kanchelskis Rooney

*I mean theres no point in asking Andre to track back is there, but those 4 will. So when defending, put him on their last man on the halfway with Rooney on the edge of the box to pick it up and feed him.
Run forrest run
