Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

I’m not desperate to finish the season. I simply said it was the fairest and most likely outcome of all this. And it still is.

The busiest threads on the site have literally been related to the prospect of voiding the league. All conversations are essentially the same. When will we get back to normal? That’s not necessarily a conversation about Football.

At work, we’re talking about what the industry and the business will look like in 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months as a result of this. That’s not insensitive, nor is it desperate and this is no different. Football is what we care about and it’s a Football forum.
Soon...........

Does the recent announcement, from arguably the most high profile player that this applies to, stating they’d be happy to play past that date, change your opinion at all in terms of what is likely to happen?
Right so Giroud is going to be out of contract on 30th June , what if he doesn’t want to sign a new contract or an extension ? What if has an agreement in place to sign for another club on July 1st ?

Given he hasn’t played in 75% of Chelsea’s league games this season, I can’t see him being a monumental loss, but OK, let’s assume that’s a possibility and he leaves Chelsea on July 1st, what do you think are the possible consequences of that?

Well You can’t allow transfers if you’re extending the season can you soft lad

Why not?

What’s problematic with extending the season and simultaneously extending the transfer window with it?

Hypothetically, purely for arguments sake, let’s say the season were to end July 30th, rather than the proposed June 30th, what would be the problem in the transfer window running from August 1st, rather than July 1st?

You are, your posts absolutely reek of desperation. Every passing day that goes by it becomes less and less likely that we’ll be playing any football in the next 6 months, yet like a battered wife you just double down, unable to accept it. It’s the classic denial stage.

Much like I add the words "in bed" to the end of every fortune cookie saying, I'm adding "as long as Liverpool wins the title" to everything this knob posts.

Now your being an obtuse tit for the sake of it.

Kopite mentality .... who’s cares about the dead as long we as have a trophy lad

No, it’s a very simple question and you’ve been either unable or unwilling to answer. I’m genuinely trying to understand your point of view.

What problems would you see in delaying the transfer window to align with the delayed playing season?

Apparently a six week end in June and July behind closed doors.

Behind closed doors still requires Ambulances and Medical staff in attendance! If the “experts” are right this thing will just be about at (one) of its peaks in 10-12 weeks, I suspect the all those medical people will have a bit more on their plates than ensuring Liverpool play the necessary number of games required to tell the world they won the league!
Somethings in life are more important!

If this season ends in December/January when do we start next season??

Loads of people were saying this last week about resuming the season. Saying it was impossible and voiding immediately was the only reasonable, rational and logical outcome.

Also, Football brings billions into the UK economy, responsible for hundreds of thousands of jobs and, ultimately, this is an Everton Football club forum.

It’s a relevant discussion because when we come out on the other side of this, those jobs and those billions need to be preserved as best as possible so that we can return to normality as swiftly as we can.

The grim and unfortunate reality is that people die every day and that’s really sad, but life must go on. If we’re all to pause and wallow right now, the world as we know it would cease to operate and never return.

First time I’ve ever found the need to give someone the middle finger on here! You’re honoured!
