Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

The Highland league have just cancelled the remainder of the season, however in a disturbing precedent, have declared Brora Rangers champions. They are 13 points clear with 6 games to play

I would rather they named the RS champions and forget this season.
The only problem is relegation etc. What about the likes of Leeds and those near the top of the championship.
Who gets relegated.
It’s a slippery slope just to please the cult, but I’d rather they were Champions if it meant less gatherings, deaths, grief, heartache, because believe me, behind closed doors or not, those people will gather in their thousands.
It needs to be done quickly and decisively, either name them Champions without another ball being kicked or abandon the season.
There can be no parade.

I just feel we are in for a huge realisation when this virus actually HITS despite the large numbers of deaths over 200 now, I think we will be faced with a huge shock in the football world which will send shockwaves across FA, PFA and UEFA.

The negative backlash for finishing this season like other businesses i.e Cineworld, Wetherspoons is MASSIVE to business and will impact on BT and SKY should fans strike up the band to Void The Season added to UK Government guidelines putting a halt on proceedings.

Add in to the millions of families who will be at breaking point to pay bills and keep themselves safe, news will focus MILLIONAIRE FOOTBALLERS being bored/frustrated or not taking paycuts which Daily Fail or The Scum will run with due to lack of news will spark a united front of anger

Liverpool have deserved the title but we can't risk thousands of lives for football honestly it's just horrific what is coming.

If the PFA agree to an extension as best practice, which they will, you’d expect the majority of their members to do so too.

This mythical legal contract wrangle is absolute fantasy, it won’t be a problem for the vast majority of clubs or players.

Given the extenuating circumstances, neither party would want to be seen as taking advantage of the situation. For those few that it applies to, and for those few that do take advantage of it, it won’t be an insurmountable challenge for any one club. Solutions are being found to overcome all sorts of challenges right now and decisions, agreements are being reached very quickly between clubs, players, leagues and associations - this would be no different.

A volume of future “legal battles” invented to support a very clear agenda that few are being honest about. Just say it’s because you have an investment in the league being voided, it’s absolutely fine to feel that way - just be honest about it rather than dancing around the houses, it’s cringy.
I’d tone it down a bit mate, your kopite nature is shining through a bit

Won’t happen... only sad melts continue to think football is relevant at all at the moment.

Loads of people were saying this last week about resuming the season. Saying it was impossible and voiding immediately was the only reasonable, rational and logical outcome.

Also, Football brings billions into the UK economy, responsible for hundreds of thousands of jobs and, ultimately, this is an Everton Football club forum.

It’s a relevant discussion because when we come out on the other side of this, those jobs and those billions need to be preserved as best as possible so that we can return to normality as swiftly as we can.

The grim and unfortunate reality is that people die every day and that’s really sad, but life must go on. If we’re all to pause and wallow right now, the world as we know it would cease to operate and never return.

Unbelievable post! So you’re saying let’s crack on as normal? Back to work, back to school, back to the pubs?

That’s quite a leap, I’m not sure how you’ve got that from what I said. That’s absolutely not what I said.

If we (as in, society) don’t prepare for the return to normality, discuss it, schedule it, focus on it, then we probably never will return to normality.

Trying to shut down conversation (on a forum of all places) by saying “....my god man, think of everything that’s going on right now! How can you think of Football at a time like this?!”.

..... is both unproductive and impractical. In the most sensitive and wholesome way possible, “the show must go on”.

The show will go on when this is over whether that’s in 3 months or 18 months.
So please tell me when should we get the season back up and running?

Btw not trying to shut down any debate just trying to understand your thinking.
