Spent a lot of time injured this season.

Swerve spending 40m on an injury-prone 29 year old thanks.

In a weird sort of way I'd probably feel more comfortable and confident going forward if we keep our powder dry and dont sign some proper rubbish on deadline day in a panic.

Get it right. Wait till the summer if necessary. This season is over.

4 points off 5th/6th/7th = seasons over?!

Absolute nonsense Timothy- plenty to play for if Brands pulls his finger out.

I assume amortisation surely must be included in FFP - otherwise we are about £9 million from the threshold which doesnt include a net spend of £35 million from this year which will be posted next.

Basically we'll have breached FFP come next year if you're basing things solely of money in and out as I doubt our revenue has changed much in this season to last.

Add in Ancelotti being promised funds it wouldnt make any sense.

With this amortisation factor, and the lengths of contracts we gave out to Gomes, Gbamin, Kean, Iwobi, Delph, we will show as having spent £25m or so in players after June 30th 2019 until June 30th 2020 as things stand. We paid £7.5M for Lookman, I doubt add-ons up to £11.5m were ever triggered, we received a guaranteed £16m immediately, we will be posting £10m+ profit on him at least, £9m+ profit on Onyekuru, £2m for Robinson, £20m+ on Gueye, we signed McCarthy for £13m, he had one year left when we sold him for at least £3m, so not much loss or profit there.

This means we are, as things stand, with your amortisation factor, we are around £15m+ up on player trading until 30th June 2020.

But with losses of £124.9m for 17/18, 18/19, this would leave us at the limit or having exceeded the FFP 3 years of no more than £105m losses. We are going to have to sell some players at a profit (or somehow cut operating costs/increase revenue).

There is one very small hole in your argument
You haven’t got a clue how the stadium will be financed and how if at all it will affect our future spending
Here say and ill informed conjecture forms the basis of your entire post

Market rates for business financing are a known variable. As a result, we have a pretty good idea of what it will cost. We're not going to pay for it with, say, the naming rights and if we try we'll have the Prem and UEFA breathing down our necks. We already have the Prem looking into the option on the naming rights and awaiting our filing.

His injury history is fairly normal for a sportsperson of that age tbh. I'm far more concerned by Gbamins injury history which for a young player to have repeated thigh issues is not a great sign.

Let’s say Alisher pays 50 m a year for naming rights and takes 10 corporate boxes at 10 m a year
You , me , nobody ( except Alisher and his inner circle ) knows what going on

Have a look and tell me me all about corporate rates and loans and financial matters
