Derbyshire Live reporting that Tosun has turned down a loan move to Derby as he is weighing up offers to go to Turkey or Germany.

Echo now running with the Todibo link, but I had a look at his stats and he has hardly any top flight experience. So it would be a bit of a punt, and he probably wouldn't be starting many games for us this season. Doesn't seem like a great fit, if his main reason for moving is that he wants to be starting more games.

....we might be into the weekend, but the links continue. Before I nip out for my Racing Post, here’s the Toffee Transfer rumours for Saturday 4th January;

- Wigan Athletic has confirmed the loan signing of Everton midfielder, Kieran Dowell, until the end of the season. The 22 year old had been on loan at Derby County but was struggling for game time.

- The Express and Mail say Everton has lodged a formal enquiry to Barcelona for 20 year old Centre Back, Jean-Clair Todibo. Barcelona are understood to want £21m for the former Toulouse defender and insist on a buy-back clause.

- Il Messagero report AS Roma are keen to sell Cengiz Under to the Premier League and Everton are being repeatedly linked. A lack of form has resulted in the 21 year old Turkish international winger being available for €35m-€40m.

- Assam continue to say Everton are interested in signing 28 year old midfielder, Jean Michael Seri, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Fulham.

- Sky Sports suggest Everton have won the race to sign 17 year old Carlisle Centre Back, Jarrad Branthwaite, for £750k.

- The Mail report Everton, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham interest in 19 year old Norwich right back, Max Aarons. The article reckons Spurs are favourites to acquire the player in a £30m deal.

- According to Blog Cagliari Calcio Net, Ancelotti is very keen on Cagliari Centre Back, Ragnar Klavan. The 34 year old was signed from Liverpool in 2018.

- Arena Napoli report Yannick Carrasco is keen on a return to Europe and Everton is one of the clubs interested . The 26 year old Belgian winger moved to China in a £9m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2018.

I was hoping to see some bigger names linked.

It has already been indicated there will be no news until after the cup game, it seems a bit pointless at the moment then to speculate. Having said that Carlo, I am sure does have ideas on board.

Everton have been linked with Kévin Théophile-Catherine in a shock 25m swoop. Blackburn were thought to be favourites but there 3.4m was rejected once Steve Walsh brokered the deal and waltzed in with a gargantuan offer.

Let me know if that name is big enough for you Bernie!

Never played it...

Football manager was ace and championship manager back in the day...too time consuming though.

I read that these games have real scouts doing the ratings so they must be somewhat realistic.

Tbh i dont really mention bizarre names like @Nymzee or under the radar players like @BlueToff and theres not much of a mystery about those I like...all quite well known.

Gonna be honest Zatman, I've not been covering footy nearly as much in the last six months and, frankly, i'm quite glad!

I'd love us to be in for someone like Dani Olmo. He is a player I've thought has been great for a while. Tipped him to do well at the Euros in the summer and he did so that's my one little bit of scouting lol

To be fair, Don Carlo said no transfer talk til after the game tomorrow. So it's likely all made up (as per)... Though Tobido and Under would certainly improve the squad by the sounds of things, idk enough about them to make my own conclusions.

I think our transfers will be odd, Carlo will see some things that we don't.
