He was in the 20 for the Watford game , but apparently lost out on a bench spot to Tosun.

He has had another good game tonight for the U23s , scoring a first half goal against PSV U23s in a 1-1 draw. One brief extract from the match report is a good summary of his play :
“ Gordon dazzles
Gordon skins the PSV right back, pushes it past the centre-half, whips in a low cross but Simms can’t get on the end of it.

Truth be told, Gordon was not only too fast for the PSV defenders but for his team-mates as well.

He has an impressive change of pace and ability to shift through the gears.”

He’s looking too good for the U23s, but needs game time so maybe training and learning with the first team , playing with the U23s is currently the best option. The other dilemma is where you would play him in the first team as he could play across all three front positions. Ideally playing on the left with Digne supporting him would be his best chance, but of course Richarlison currently has that position.

...Silva has already said it’ll be difficult for Gordon because he’s got real competition for wide position, so that must be where he’ll get his chance. Bernard’s injury and Iwobi’s emergence as a no10 opens the door a little, but the ‘safer’ option will always be to use Sigurdsson and push Iwobi out wide.

Gordon is already training with the first team and we can assume he’s holding his own. He’ll also be staying and travelling with the squad on matchdays, so he should be integrated when the chance comes. Be good to see Silva be brave enough to put him on the bench ahead of some big earners.

That is exactly how Silva will get the sack...

Unfortunately eggs Silva won’t give him a try as he does not play the youngsters as proven with Kenny, Gordon, Banigame and even Davies to an extent, as he only played him v West Ham because Schniderlin was injured.

Sunday he will leave Tom out again for Delph, he will probably play Coleman as well even though he has been awful all season

Not quite the same mate since Villa were naff for quite a few seasons before his debut. We’re massively underachieving and the atmosphere is toxic for poor player performances.
Good players are good players. It was toxic for Ross Rom and Stones. They're just good players.
