Go all out for Rafael in summer.
Just make them an offer now, he would jump at the chance to come here. I know he’s got history over the park but he’s a proper manager not one of these so. All great up and coming ones, we’ve been there with two now and it doesn’t work.

Really?
You saw the capitulation.

Did you see Newcastle starting to take control of the game/be more threatening, from the start of the second half.
Newcastle finding their way, Everton losing theirs.
That's down to the managers.
When this was evident, before the first goal, is when Silva should have reacted.
It was pretty clear at this stage that Schneids should have been brought on for DCL to gain dominance in middle and deal with the width.
With Lookman to come on for Bernard as his legs ran out.
And Seamus on for Kenny to settle and who was on a yellow.

Instead, Rafael makes a sub at half time. Then a goal. Then another sub.
His response is too late, his leadership is too weak.
What does he do? He brings on MIna for Richarlison.

Yeah, keep telling yourself its on the players.

We can all be keyboard managers, and believe me I am at best ambivalent about Silva so not going to disagree with your game management plan there as it is all hypothetical after the event.

But regardless of team or manager Premier League players should not react like ours do when the opposition have a go. They are weak, and have been since Martinez and it takes more than 6 months of a season to achieve the huge mental culture change needed.

No idea if Silva will be able to do that or if it will take another managerial change. No way should we make a change though - what's the point when we've had the young extravagant type, the solid big name, the ultra defensive dinasour and now back on a young expansive type. At some point you have to stick and see where it goes.

Expecting us to go back to being cack again for the remainder of this sorry season tbh, however will be very happy if i am wrong and actually finish the season off with a decent run and good performances and results.

This game will give us a good idea of what to expect.

Wasnt far off. We were ok for about an hour and then went back to being cack again and we definitely have a good idea of what to expect for the remainder of the season. Disappointment, frustration, embarrassment, poor performances, baffling management decisions i.e exactly as things have been for the past 3 months.

Some of the football we played was great, but we were beat a few times by a long ball over the top before the 1st goal, not because we were playing a high line.Because the defence were playing 10yds too deep and allowing the balls to drop which schoolboy level. If we would have played a closer line between are attack and defence we would have won comfortably as we can play in tight situations much better than them. From a football perspective we were streets ahead of them but tactically we are still naive. As for Pickford. I have no words.

Don’t need to be a genus to see things are not working on the pitch and the table doesn’t lie. Abysmal defending management too.

Tullia, my daughter, came around to mine last night...Thai green curry I was cooking.. she asked me “ are you watching the game tonight Dad?”. Me? I reckon I’ve put in near 20 hour days of work each day this week...I’m feeling absolutely f*cked....no way I was watching any 4am football game.
Anyway, I have just woken up and seen our lion hearts have disappointed us all again.

I am genuinely beginning to hate this team of losers..

A Benitez ‘type’ manager is not going to come to a club where the coach is just that-coach only no wider club influence, and completely subserviant to a supremely powerful DOF. In fact Benitez the prime example of a traditional style ‘control’ manager (not that I would want him anyway too much baggage and would divide the supporter base from day 1).

Any manager that wants significant influence in transfers, youth and academy set ups, club football philosophy- which constitutes many (not al) of the worlds top managers; would not fit in at Everton the way we have now set up with Brands basically an equal ‘face’ of the football side (ie he gives interviews etc when most normal DOFs/Sporting directors remains in the background media-wise). I’m not saying that’s right or wrong time will tell, but I personally think it limits the type of coach we could now get. Perhaps there’s a fantastic coach out there though whom could flourish in our set up?
