WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE
YEOVIL TOWN LADIES 1 EVERTON LADIES 0

In a game Between the bottom 2 WSL teams where Everton were looking for there 1st league win of the season, surely it was going to come today more than any other day possible,as the team they were playing Yeovil Ladies had in 2 days time not won any game any comp for 2 years losing 38,drawing 3 of the last 41 games,

Anyway on to the game and Chloe kelly had the 1st chance off the game on 3mins when her shot was easy for the yeovil keeper Walsh,Yeovil then had a half chance on 4 before on 6mins Danielle Turner broke the offside trap and shot right at the keeper, Boye-Hlorkah was the next player for Everton to see her shot saved from close range,on 18 Ellie Mason connected well with a header, only to see her effort skid wide for Yeovil.
But on 21mins Yeovil took the lead when Everton cleared a free-kick and Short shot from distance. Her looping effort was too hot for keeper Kirstie Levell to handle and the ball creep into the net,bit of an error maybe,Everton continued to have chances with Kelly,Boye-Hlorkah twice and Kaagman going close, but it was 1-0 Yeovil HT

The 2nd half began again with Everton having chances and taking none of them, before Horwood and Heatherson then had shots for Yeovil saved by Everton Keeper Levell, before Everton's Kaagman free kick was saved well, Bryson then shot over for Everton on 76mins,before on 78mins a Brilliant double save from Walsh, The first was a flying stop from cain and the second a brave point-blank block on the rebound from Boye-Hlorkah,on 86 sub Claudia Walker fired at Walsh who stands tall to save's again, the game ended 1-0 and The Attendance at The Clayson Stadium was 732 to witness Yeovil's 1st win in 2 years and send Everton Ladies bottom, infact 2 of the last 4 wins for Yeovil over 45 games have been 1-0 v Everton

And it wont get much easier as the next game is the leaders Arsenal Women who have 7 wins from 7 in 2 weeks time

No surprise really

Andy Spence has left his role as Head Coach of Everton Ladies.

The Club would like to express its gratitude to Andy for the service he has given to the Ladies team.

A permanent appointment will be made as soon as possible and, in the interim, goalkeeping coach Jennifer Herst will take temporary charge.

WOMENS SUPER LEAGUE
EVERTON LADIES 0 ARSENAL WOMEN 4

Well this was the 1st game since Andy Spence has left his role as Head Coach of Everton Ladies following that defeat to Yeovil who gained there 1st win in any comp in 2 years, and this was the 1st game for Jen Herst who stepped up as interim Head Coach, while the search is on for a new boss, and it could not have been a harder start if she tried,as Everton Ladies bottom of the Womens Super League with no wins in 7 games, were up against the WSL leaders Arsenal who have a perfect 7 wins from 7 games,

Onto the game and Jordan Nobbs had the 1st chance for Arsenal on 4mins when Everton keeper Kirstie Levell turned her shot going bottom left behind for a corner. on 6mins again Nobbs had a great chance when from a Levell parry out to the pen spot she could only completely miskick,on 10mins Levell again was in action when an angled cross was met by Miedema ,the keeper parried it,before the then returned cross for Miedema she could not finish off,on 12 and a chance for Everton when Hannah Cain received a pass from Magill on the edge of the area and her shot was deflected wide, before the corner fell to Gabby George unmarked who failed to get her header on target,On 26 Levell then pulled off a brilliant save with her legs when Mead got to the by line on the left and cut the ball back to McCabe from 6 yards out,on 37 after good work down the left By George and co,the cross was met by Magill who headed it up in the air and still had time to get to react to her own header but it was easy for the Arsenal keeper after a tame shot from her, then on 41 after more Arsenal pressure a shot was cleared of the line before a magnificent save from Levell going to her left from, before seconds later she again made another fantastic save from a close ranger header onto the bar, before finally Arsenal Women did take the lead when Danielle van de Donk opened the scoring on 43 mins when after the ball deflected to her,she was left in space in the area and fired home left footed into the roof of the net to give Arsenal a very well deserved lead, while Everton have defended very well and somehow only conceeded 1,

At the start of the 2nd half and mins into it,Arsenal got a deserved 2nd when Jordon Nobbs got a deserved goal on 48 after Mead played the ball across and Miedema intelligently cushioned it back for Nobbs. She took her time, worked the shooting position, and finished with ease,2mins later it got worst when it was 3-0 on 50mins via Miedema when after a poor pass from Georgia Brougham was seized by Vivianne Miedema who finished a one-on-one with Levell. Hannah Cain then should have pulled one back for Everton when on 53 she got behind the defence but shot over with the keeper to beat,It became 4-0 on 65mins when Miedema got her 2nd of the game when after a pull back by Nobbs, she lashed it home right footed to the keepers left,Walker then shot over the bar for Everton on 75mins,Kelly then tried a curler from about 25 yards out which went wide for Everton,Hughes for Everton then had a snapshot go wide on 86mins, but the game ended up 4-0 when it should have been so many more [could have been 4 just the 1st half] and it was Evertons 5th defeat, with 2 draws from 7 games

Everton Ladies next game is away to Reading Women next sunday before they then play Liverpool Women twice in the space of 3 days, once in the league 12pm ko the day of the mens derby, then 3 days later in a cup game 7pm ko

We drew against Chelsea not so long ago.

Big game coming up against Reading. I fancy us to win, and then push on.

7 league games played this season mate, 5 defeats and 2 draws.

Last season 18 games, 12 defeats, 4 win s and 2 draws, and we only got promoted this season to the top league (not on merit) because the FA named us as their chosen team over Doncaster Belles to replace Notts County because Notts County folded up.

This is why I said it's not a 'recent' run of poor form mate.

READING WOMEN 2 EVERTON LADIES 1

It was Everton Ladies 8th game of the WSL and again they were still looking for a 1st league win this season, this time they were away to a Reading womens team who had won there last 2 and drew 1 of the previous 3 games and a ground Everton have lost on the last 2 visits to.
Onto the game itself and it was Everton who broke the dead lock on 14mins when Kaagman sliped a pass in for Cain, the youngster made no mistake, finishing low past Reading keeper Malone,Faya williams then had a chip come back of the bar for Reading on 16mins before Everton broke the other end and Cain in a one on one saw her shot saved, before on 19mins it became 1-1 when Remi Allen played in Chaplen, at one time an Everton player and she coolly beat Everton keeper Levell. Right on ht Levell made a great save from a Moore volley

Kaagman saw her 55th minute free kick go close to flying into the top corner, but she was unlucky for Everton,a minute later she scored but the goal was give as offside,Cain had her shot right at Maloney but easy, before Kelly forced Moloney to make another save,But on 76mins it was Reading who took a 2-1 lead when James found Chaplen with a pass and she bend a fine finish around Levell. ,Kelly then flashed a cross across the box from wide on the right but Magill couldnt get on the end of it 5mins from the end,the game ended 2-1 to Reading with Everton remaining bottom of the table,Phil neville was one of the people in the crowd watching this match

Everton Ladies will now be looking for the 1st league win this season v Liverpool at home sunday with a midday ko ,before its derby again a few days later in the WSL cup

Everton Ladies v Liverpool Women is LIVE this Sunday at midday on the FA WSL Facebook with Everton still looking for the 1st win in the wsl at the 9th attempt -game at southport, thats the 1st of 2 derbys the other few days later in the cup at Tranmere's ground

It's to be expected. The goons have always been one of the strongest ladies' teams, even before City and Chelsea caught up.

Everton were also one of the best.

WSL/WNL is corrupt as it comes, know this from working in it for 2 years. Yeovil still being in the top division, Man Utd bypassing tiers and tiers of football to go straight into division 2, Sheffield United going from tier 4 to tier 2. Doncaster Belles, who won division two last season, are now in Division 3 and have been spanked by the team I worked for Blackburn Rovers 9-0 and 9-2 this season so far.

Hard to take any of it seriously.
