I can't even be arsed....

We now live in a world of vain, moralising, attention seeking bellends, faux outraged by everything.

Including being outraged about other people being suposedly outraged....

The documentary about this is hardly full of people being outraged either, its just people talking about the subject at hand but that doesn't fit the narrative of the perma triggered white male youtube generation who cryass at the first sign of minorities complaining about percieved racism.

This is what I was driving at in my post, this has become a very arrogant dangerous group of people, who offhand dismiss anyone not from their demographic, Toronto being the most extreme version so far, but a worrying trend in my opinion

So it is right and proper that racism is a one way street in the eyes of the law?

It is okay for my ex-boss to tell me not to be so English. But it is not okay for me to answer back because that could be considered racist or worse still anti semetic.

I cannot condone any form of abuse. But what I hate more is this constant twisting of the truth to suit an agenda.

Everyone is equal and should treated as such.
I don't see how this fits in with racism being the most misused word in the english language as you put it?

Also, I have a hard time addressing anecdotal evidence, he said she said stories from people on the internet, too open to bias.

My last point would be, were you offended? Did the comments make you feel belittled because of your heritage, and did it bring up feelings of the lack of opportunity, daily persecution, constant stereotyping and the historical struggle of the white man in england. I personally wouldn't be for the reasons I'm hinting at, but I would also never arrogantly tell anyone they don't have a right to be offended as I can't put myself in their shoes, how the issue is addressed or if it should be is a different matter

Nobody is removing their right to be offended. In fact, the bit of symbiotic opposition is probably giving their message reach they might not otherwise have had. But people are equally within their rights to think it stupid to be offended by a fairly benign cartoon character and say as much. I have no idea what Boba Fret's on about btw, this has nothing to do with "reverse racism"

You don't have to be the thing to talk about the thing.

For example, those offended by Apu aren't cartoon animators, but they're talking about the merits of a character on one aren't they?

It works the same way in reverse. They have the right to be offended - but people also have the right to point out why it's quite stupid that they're offended.

Sometimes the problem is with people, not the subject matter. This is one of those times.

All i am trying to say in my clumsy way is that some people are too quick to throw in the offended card and I am getting tired of it.

Whilst I was not offended by the comments in my example it does not mean others wouldn't be. Furthermore I have stated this an emotive subject and one persons views/comments will always manage to offend somebody!

He's a reasonably well known comedian in the US (personally I don't find him funny) who has performed on SNL and the people he's interviewing about it are pretty well known actors. I recognised every single one of them. If he was a nobody he wouldn't be landing interviews with the likes of Whoopie Goldberg and Kal Pen.

So no Pete, you're wide of the mark... as usual.

I am outraged at your final remark and I am going to interview grandoldteam, bruce, roydo and Groucho for their opinions of you........

Mate, I am offended by some comments you made about the Irish recently and I demand an apology to my people. Make it grovelling

My opinions on the Irish are mixed having worked for a number of Irish companies

it's not like he's being stereotyped as being part of culture that has a problem with Paedophile grooming gangs preying on vulnerable girls that are in care or come from poverty and that in his native land public gang rape is seen as a kind of sport tolerated by the masses where passers by can either become spectators or participants depending on how long ago they committed their last rape ,is it.".... Now that would be offensive and worthy of a campaign.
