Seems like every week we chop and change the team for little logical purpose - Is this just the modern game nowadays or are we still just floundering around looking for our best team?

That run just after Christmas was horrendous for just randomly changing the team

Man City - 2 changes
Chelsea - 2 changes
Tottenham - 3 changes
Man Utd - 2 changes
Bournemouth - 3 changes
Burnley - 3 changes
Brighton - 3 changes
Arsenal - 2 changes
Leicester - 3 changes
Watford - 4 changes
Crystal Palace - 3 changes
Southampton - 2 changes
West Ham - 5 changes
Huddersfield - 0 changes
Liverpool - 1 change
Newcastle - 2 changes
Swansea - 0 changes
Chelsea - 3 changes
West Brom - 3 changes
Bournemouth - 4 changes
Man Utd - 7 changes
Tottenham - 6 changes
West Brom - 4 changes
Leicester - 7 changes
Arsenal - 5 changes
Crystal Palace - 4 changes
Watford - 2 changes
Burnley - 3 changes

It's been a revolving door all season, from the manager level on down. The ultimate in going in circles.

Its a tough one, you want the consistency that playing the same team brings but if we are getting tonked all the time then of course you are going to try and find a winning formula. I believe if we weren't tanking games so bad all the time then a settled side would emerge, catch 22 in a way.

Going out of the cups so early has meant no opportunity for fringe players to get game time also.

Oh god, you have just looked at nearly every match report again, having suffered it the first time round.

Thoughts and indeed prayers.

Agree and there is often little sense to the changes. Dropping players who show anything or not dropping players when they are poor. A few examples off the top of my head. Lookman in the derby helps set up a goal never plays again is then loaned.
Holgate our best CB all season one mistake he is dropped for weeks.
Morgan awful for weeks falls out with everyone in training back in the team.
Martina and Williams mistake after mistake and not dropped.

It just doesn't make any sense what Allardyce is doing any more.
