I get the feeling from thinking about the Ajax team that Klassen could work well as a middle three and surrounded by pace. Also with Rooney out of his way so he can play one twos and make runs off the pace of say a Lookman/DCL/Vlasic.

I can't comment on him at all in Holland mate, I don't watch any of their football in fairness. It's strange that Cryuff rated him so highly, I know he's obviously not going to flat out say he's awful in an interview about him but he compared him to some very good players. Surely a "Yer, he's decent lad" answer would have just done the job

Cruyff has said that (for Ajax) Klaassen was basically the link between centre midfield and attack as a one touch player.

Look at their other central mids last season especially...not exactly ball players.

When we had Cahill coming into the box late he mostly got on the end of headers, was able to jump super high and was very good with timing as well as being athletic.

I'm not sure Klaassen compares...also I agree he can probably play one twos...but is that it?

Yeah he seems more basic he doesn't even have the energy I was hoping for. Strange signing really I think we were expecting a goal scorer who arrived into the box but I haven't I seen him in there much, is that the system or him not being particularly confident!?Not much sign of anything above average in his skill set thus far. In a way he's been the most disappointing buy.

The big disappointment from the team's display today is that it's given Klaassen a way back in against Brighton. The intensity of that game will completely pass him by and we'll be practically down to ten men.

£24.5m midfielders, who signed in the summer, isn't getting any game timelol

What an absolute shambles of a transfer window and season.

Klaassen does make late runs into the box Zat.

Last season he was at his best with a sitter (Schone) behind and a playmaker (Ziyech) next to him.

Ajax then obviously had pace out wide which is something we don't have with Koeman's current team selection.

If you actually watch our chances in the games he's played back mate you'll see he's nearly always within 5/10 yards of the goalscorer.

Yes I know he makes these late runs but with Ajax the ball came into his feet from out wide, cahill scored a lot with his head.

Remember the quality in Holland is vastly inferior and he wont be seeing many balls to feet like that in England...

I just don't see what he brings to the table (which I said when we were linked)
