Shame, looked really decent during that short run he had in the team back in 14/15. Didn't exactly set the world alight with Fulham in the Championship in 15/16 though and Koeman apparently wasn't impressed, hence why didn't see him at all last season in the first-team.

Time for him to move on, he can likely find a club somewhere in the relegation places or at the top of Championship who would be willing to give him a chance. Just a shame he likely won't ever be that exciting Baines replacement it was briefly thought he could be.
He picked up a really bad injury early doors with Fulham thats the gamble loaning players out in leagues were the refs don't protect a player!

...he's struggled for game time at teams in the lower leagues and I assume he's behind the likes of Antonee Robinson and Callum Connolly in the pecking order (both of whom are out on loan).

That's hardly a crushing endorsement to throw somebody into the Premier League.

He got crocked about his 3rd game in playing for Fulham!

your missing the point here-

some fans logic - anyone who isnt playing is automatically better than whoever is playing...

I meant I'd rather have a fit Baines once a week and a garbutt or someone else once a week than a laboured baines twice a week ! seen it with Barry ! he was shocking when he played twice a week when we were in europe! think you have to be fair on the older players

rooney probably the best option to play left back

3 centre halves (Keane, Williams, Holgate) for the Europa league with Mirallas and Kenny as wing backs, then a back 4 in the league with Keane and Jags centre halves, Baines and Holgate as full backs.
