He played in a similar position at Swansea. My opinion is that he was brought in to play the same role as Barkley last season, on one side of a front 3 with the licence to come inside, similar to Eriksen at Spurs. The problem is Rooney has a tendancy to drop in to that space, Klaassen is also trying to occupy that space, leaving it very congested and unbalanced. Just my opinion.
