Looked rusty and tended to try to do too much to impress last night. I think we should keep him as back up to Snides/ Gana in the upcoming fixture frenzy. Still to prove he is a starter though.

Should be the first back-up to Schneiderlin now Barry has left.

For the midfield positions:

Holding player: Schneiderlin, Besic

Box-to-box: Gueye, Davies, McCarthy*

Attacking mid: Sigurdsson, Klaassen, Barkley*

Obviously, that can chop and change, but as a base template it's not bad.

Worked hard when he came on. Made a lot of good runs and was asking for the ball constantly. Anyone else catch him flip out at Williams for opting not to pass to him about 30 seconds after he came on?

I did see that and I laughed at him for it, he was marked by about 3 players and those "good runs" you mention were him jetting off about 40 yards ahead of the player on the ball instead of actually going somewhere into space to receive the ball. He was coming back from one of his headless chicken runs when he lost his temper with Williams because nobody would pass him the ball because he was marking himself out of the game.

His yellow card really didn't need to be one but he couldn't win the ball off of the opposition or even knock it out for a throw so just hacked him down.

There's a reason Koeman didn't want Barry to leave and Besic is it.

I'm really sad about it, and please don't shoot the messenger, but I've heard from a very good source that he's being moved on as soon as someone comes in for him
