With our new sponsor and this trip, I can see us putting some marketing muscle into capturing as much market share in Sub-continental Africa. I'm not really sure if any other football clubs have put a ton of resources in the African market but with countries like Senegal and Kenya expected to experience growth rates higher than 6 percent, and literally millions of potential supporters/customers as the middle class grows, it seems an obvious place to turn the data analytics boys to, and start selling shirts, package tours, licensing deals, TV deals etc.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to make a pre-season trip to Africa a yearly or semi-annual thing, especially as long as we have some African players in the side like Gana and Bolasie. You saw how the people went nuts for Bolasie, and he's from the DRC.

This may seem crass to the old school supporters, but this is modern football and if we want to be up there with United and Chelsea and City and some other team that plays in red, we have to carve out commercial opportunities where they make sense, and this makes total sense.

Obviously we still want to stay big in Runcorn as well.

Yeah, it's great, let's make sure we get as much money out of Africa and bombard them until they support our good European teams
